First off the rehab therapists were great and very polite. The rest of the staff were pretty horrible. They don’t communicate clearly with you. They don’t tell or show you everything in regards to insurance coverage or for how long your loved ones can stay until they have to come out of pocket etc..until you are gone and they hit you with thousands from nowhere. The rooms are filthy. The beds, tvs, bathrooms, etc are extremely old and worn. The nursing is staffed way too thin so they are agitated and the patients have to wait for quite a while if they need something. My grandmother said they barely did therapy with her, bathed her, or came to check on her. It’s like they extended everything out as long as they could to get paid for longer by insurance vs. putting the patient first and tryin for help them recover as fast as possible. If you can afford it choose another place.

The most unethical organization I have ever encountered. The group that owns is all worked for Bob Dean. A gentleman who stuffed everyone in a warehouse during Katrina. Many people perished and bodies were just stacked up in the corner of the warehouse like garbage. These people at Lakeshore manor all worked for Mr. Dean and have the same ethics (None). It is absolutely shameful and disgraceful to have people like this run these facilities. Run as far as you can before placing a loved one in this facility.
my loved one is a patient that lives here full time for over 10+ years. since new ownership, his quality of care has gone down to almost NONE. the facility had a patient transport van to bring them to the store, dr. appointments, outtings, etc. since new ownership, they have gotten rid of the van and now the patients have to make dr appointments via ambulance ride only. no more store trips or anything. receptionist got fired and now there's no one to let visitors inside or answer calls. my loved one only gets shaved when i shave him myself, never gets taken out the bed and hardly ever bathe him. sad that there's no one to fix this issue and this is how corporate ownership looks. patients are seen as dollar signs and not people.
This is my third time editing my review since my family member has been a patient. This facility has valued my opinion and continues to address concerns in a timely manner. Like everywhere else, the staff is often short handed, but well trained. In the few months my family member has been a patient, I've learned that the patients with the highest success rates are those with involved family members and friends who actively visit. The staff, while highly trained, will never replace the encouragement that comes with the presence of a loved one.
In here only second day. Staff want to be helpful, do part of a task, leave the room saying I'll be right back but don't come back. I need therapy before I can go home. Was told that I would be getting one hour of therapy three times a day. Not happening so far. Food not too good either. Third day still not getting physical therapy or occupational therapy. Decided to leave can do better than this on my own at home. I feel like all they did was stretch out the length of stay to be able to keep changing my insurance company for services not being served.
