The activity director will not be happy if you charge what you're worth if you are providing entertainment. Beware! She said she could only pay a certain amount, so we graciously lowered our price to accommodate her. She then proceeded to leave a review for us saying she was still unhappy with the price that she booked us for after the performance. The residents seem happy, and our performer had a lovely time showcasing a lot of talents for them, but beware if you are working with this facility.

Well. It is like no other place for people needing some help. It's very clean compared to most, because it's the duty of those staying in the establishment to tend to It's needs, and there's volunteer jobs. Not too much, but one can stay at a small fee. Very nice, extra food, and a person can maintain some bad habits, if they need too, but a zero drug policy.
Lake Forest Village is a BEAUTIFUL community. It sits on about 80 acres and has a country like setting just minutes from shopping and medical facilities. The lake has walking trails for residents to enjoy and provides a place for them to experience all the natural wildlife that live close by. They have raised garden beds that residents can grow fruits and vegetables. They also have a theater room, fitness center, several libraries, arts studio, chapel, salon, and even a general store that allows residents the ability to shop for daily necessities. If residents do want to leave the campus, they can sign up for transportation services free of charge. All of the apartments, cottages and twin homes are beautiful with upgraded touches throughout the homes. The residents are friendly and enjoy getting to know one another and the staff is caring and works hard to keep everyone safe and happy.
I have lived at Good Samaritan Lake Forest since March of 2017. I really appreciate all of the amenities offered at Good Samaritan and have made many friends here. The staff is very caring and we have been well protected during this "pandemic" time. I recommend this facility to anyone looking for a place to live out their later years.
AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!! My grandfather with Alzheimer's was discharged after a FALL and back fracture in the hospital to this Good Sam location for inpatient rehabilitation. They did not provide a walker like the hospital said they would despite his discharge instructions stating he wasn't to walk without one. His bathroom smelled to high heaven of urine and they had a CLOTH lazy boy recliner in his room which is absolutely disgusting as it's impossible to sanitize between patients!! After we fed him, had him ready for bed, set the bed alarm, and informed the staff we would be back, my grandmother and I went to dinner and came back to find out he'd been wandering the halls, bed alarm going off incessantly with no caretakers in sight, no walker, etc. We opted to pull him out Against Medical Advice (AMA) ASAP and the on-call nurse supervisor made it abundantly clear how annoyed she was to have to come in to handle our case. SO rude to us!! No apology offered despite the obvious safety negligence. Despite their physical therapist saying they would, they did NOT provide a walker or wheelchair to assist him down the 2 very long hallways to the car at discharge, so my 84 year old grandmother and I helped walk him in his back brace with multiple breaks along the way to the car despite the fact that had he fallen INSIDE their facility, there would have undoubtedly been a lawsuit. It's a wonder this place is still in business. I hear the Denton Village north location is a night & day difference from this place though. Unless your loved one is wheelchair bound and requires simply meds passed, do NOT take them here!!! Home health service less frequently is better than the "around the clock" inpatient treatment here!!!
