The social worker Lisa was very unprofessional an could not communicate. She slammed the door in my face an it's very hard to get any of the staff available like they are very delusional. Was glad to get dad out of there.
I called the assisted living manager and left several detailed messages with their voice mail. I was very disappointed as I never got a return call. Would have been nice to talk with a professional and get some answers so I could make a decision for my mother but I guess you were too busy/ or I feel like my mom wasn’t worth your time. Very lacking in professionalism.
Some of the staff were wonderful, others were completely unhappy with their job. In the nearly two months that my father was there, it often appeared they were short of staff. Twice I saw employee conflicts, one leaving the building in tears, and another time with two in the hallway discussing staffing issues. My father, very picky, was incredibly dissatisfied. Considering the circumstances, the experience was barely par. Once Hospice of the Ozarks became involved, the service provided by Good Sam diminished substantially worse, without regard to paying the same rate. My father regularly complained of the overnight care workers, but I was never present overnight to witness. We are in a world where CNAs are not paid well for their work. Most staff in these facilities are underpaid. That still does not make it okay to provide substandard care because you are regularly short staffed. If staff was at par, I feel it was significantly poor staffing for the number of patients per section. Overall, the experience was disappointing. While this facility might be well rated in the community, I would not recommend the experience for a loved one.
If I could give negative review I would. MIL admitted 08/26 kicked out on 09/09 told insurance would not pay anymore. She came out weaker and less able to care for herself. Was told to sign a document stating she had completed all goals of therapy!!!!! She is now back in hospital less than a week from discharge with life threatening infection in her mouth.
