Wildbad 1, 92318 Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz, Germany
Unfortunately, as the main carer, I have to be out of work for several months due to illness - that's why my mother has been here since April... first for preventive care and now temporarily staying in a nice single room with her own bathroom until around September. The old people's and nursing home is primarily used for the internal care of the convent's "aging" nuns. If there is free capacity, this facility can also be used by “normal” people with a Christian attitude, preferably women, who need temporary care or nursing. The facility is a bit older, but has absolutely contemporary equipment - e.g. bath lift, bed lift, ... There are single and double rooms. The food is very good (the monastery's own kitchen also allows for a certain individuality, it is definitely not "industrial food"). The nursing and social care is very good and the many nice and very open nuns make it easy to make connections and talk to people. My mother feels very comfortable. There are afternoons with games, singing or similar - this weekend there was a circus with acrobatics and a small petting zoo - respect! There are connections to local pharmacies, general practitioners, podiatrists and hairdressers. There are only a few gaps (still to be closed) in the area of rehabilitation - here in Neumarkt you can hardly find physiotherapists and physiotherapists who are willing to make home visits or to look after such a facility => it's a shame, but this facility itself can't do anything about that. Contact person: Mr. Werner Meier, who is also in charge of the nursing service. (As of: 05/23)
