Staff were VAGUE, DISMISSIVE, UNTRUTHFUL, and RUDE... Kadima of Palmyra in PA staff were vague about my family member's care, staff were dismissive of my inquiries about care, staff were untruthful and lied about the treating doctor's affiliation with a local hospital entity, staff were vague about the treating doctor's care and personal treatment of care, staff got rude and hung up on me when I called and asked them to contact me back concerning the information about which I inquired. All I was trying to do was ensure that Kadima of Palmyra in PA was providing the family member the same excellent level of care that they had been receiving from the family for years. I cared that that level of care was still being done for this family member while at the Kadima facility, but the staff treated me by being VAGUE, DISMISSIVE, UNTRUTHFUL, and RUDE to me. What they didn't know is that I have health conditions myself and getting treated in this manner by the staff at Kadima caused my conditions to flare and I became unable to accomplish other tasks which included contacting doctors I needed to for my health.
My father was sent there. They never gave him a bed that he could stretch his legs. He spent 4 nights trying, unsuccessfully, to sleep with his knees in the air. He's 6 ft tall--on the tall end, but not a giant! He wanted to leave. They told him it would be AMA and scared us with a bunch of lies. LEAVING AMA WILL NOT AFFECT YOUR PREVIOUS BILLS FROM THE HOSPITAL BEFORE YOU GOT THERE, NOR WILL THEY AFFECT YOUR MEDICAL CARE OR BILLS AFTER YOU LEAVE. By telling us these LIES they got 3 days of extra pay before we found out the truth. THEY ALSO LIED TO US SAYING THAT IF HE LEFT AMA, HE WOULD BE SENT TO AN ER BY AMBULANCE. This is NOT TRUE. They cannot hold you against your will. That's kidnappiing. This was another LIE to get more money! There is a lock on the door with a code to open the door. Obviously, we didn't have the code to get out, so I finally told my dad to sign the AMA paper because I couldn't figure out at the moment how he would get out. YOU DON'T HAVE TO SIGN ANYTHING. More lies to cause fear.
My father was sent to Kadima directly from Good Samaritan Hospital. We weren't given a choice of his placement. Thankfully, my father only spent one evening in this facility before being transferred to the hospital. My father was left laying in his own diarrhea overnight. He rang his call button but no one ever came. My mother had to bathe him the next day. After being out for a doctor appointment, his bed still had not been made. My mother made his bed once they finally found her sheets that didn't have tears in them. My father begged my mom not to leave him there. When we returned to collect his items after his hospital placement, his roommate, who was a young man of sound mind, informed me that the nursing staff had been nasty to my father and had not treated him well. I would not send anyone to this facility. I'd give it zero stars but I have to choose at least one star to post the review.
We were referred to Kadima Rehab at Palmyra by a previous patient whom stated that they were returning back there once leaving the hospital for a 2nd time. Our family member has been treated very well since arrival. The staff has been professional and accommodating. The social worker administrator has been a real pleasure to work with for present needs and future necessities for home care. We are very APPRECIATIVE of her efforts. Also we are greeted well at the front desk when entering or leaving. Thank you
