1950 Cliffside Dr, State College, PA 16801, United States
This review comes on behalf of me and my father (who was the one staying there). He said as a patient he felt looked after and cared for, found the staff to be excellent, and enjoyed the meals and activities there. As an outside observer (and fiercely protective of my father), I've got to say his whole care team was absolutely top notch and willing to answer all my questions, and they were truly working hard to get him in shape to come home as soon as he could.

Each department I’ve dealt with is helpful, an tries to go the extra mile to make it happen
The staff is very caring and Kirsten in admissions goes above and beyond for her patience.
My mom's care here at skilled nursing/rehab was truly poor. She could not advocate for herself and I feel that the staff just ignored her. The skilled nursing is very understaffed for the level of care the residents need. Staff seems uncaring and uninterested in general, particularly nurses. Took multiple phone calls to get rehab started after a broken wrist. Dining room is chaotic with late meals and not enough staff to help residents who need assistance with feeding. Only reason my mom was here is that it was only facility with an open bed when she left the hospital. If I had to do it again, I would look outside Centre County which would be inconvenient for me, but would allow better care for my mom. Also, please be aware that 5 star review from Kathryn Bainbridge happens to be the nursing home administrator there at Juniper Village at Brookline. Are you kidding me-how is a 5 star review from the person in charge of running this facility helpful in any way for families trying to make a choice for their loved one. That seems really shady to me and a significant conflict of interest.
My great grandmother was cared for at a nursing facility for almost 10 years prior to her passing. The building was old and grungy and falling apart. Every time we visited we were overcome with the “old person” smell which is a mix of urine and odors due to lack of hygiene. This was all she could afford. However, at Juniper Village at Brookline, the “old person” smell does not exist. It’s clean and the building is very well kept. Cleanliness is so very important. I wish my great grandmother could’ve been cared for at a facility as clean as this one.
