Masselstraße 2, 72290 Loßburg, Germany
I was there for 3 years and I have to say, it's something I don't like to remember. Yes, there were also very good/nice moments but there were things that were very bad. You are very restricted with going out, spending your pocket money and (although for many it never happened that way) a lot of transphobia from the carers/home and also exclusion among the young people. Young people with mental problems were not treated well and were not taken into account, often simply sent to the clinic and that was it. It also happened that supervisors looked at young people's accounts several times and talked about things in person that were there (this is not allowed from a professional point of view). These were just examples, I won't go into detail here. I just want to point out that, depending on the situation, it doesn't look good for some people.

I was there 6 years ago. Among other things, there was occasionally moldy bread, and the sanitary facilities were also very unhygienic. 90% of the teachers and educators were friendly and helpful when we had problems. But unfortunately, there were a few exceptions who sometimes punished us quite harshly. I thought long and hard about writing a review because I don't want to be unfair. So if you really want to do something nice, the children there would be thrilled with even the smallest of things, and the teachers would also appreciate a sincere thank you.
I was able to spend about half a year there, and I have to say, it was the best time I've had in a long time... friendly supervisors and just a fantastic time.
My mother worked in the laundry there for many years. Under Mr. Jäger and Opitz. I spent more time with the children there than with local children. It was a nice time.
I was there from my early 60s until September 1968. All in all, it was a carefree childhood. Of course, things were more rustic back then, and there was a bit of a stir. But it didn't do any harm. Ottokar Jäger was a good home director back then "He was also my guardian. I remember the teacher, Mr. Boots, very well. We often went skiing with him. Giesela Wedig was our group leader at the time, the rascals. It was an unforgettable time that I wouldn't want to miss.
