The new carpet in Eastlake looks terrible. Whose idea was it to replace the laminate flooring with carpet that looks like Aunt Martha had explosive diarrhea all over the carpet. Such a shame that this carpet has ruined a great place.

My husband and I have lived at JKV for a little over three years now. The community is everything we hoped for and more. The peace of mind that Lifecare provides cannot be overstated. JKV is truly a "community" in every sense of the word. We have 5-star facilities and programming that can keep you as busy as you'd like or not. The team members that work here are part of that community and we all watch out for each other. If you are 62 or older, this is the place you want to be.
We have been residents of South Florida for the past 70+ years. After raising our family in 3 different cities here in Broward, we sought a new community where we could live independently and enjoy our senior years without the hassle of maintaining a house with all the frequent and draining expenses of ownership. After checking out numerous senior living neighborhoods and facilities, we visited John Knox Village in Pompano Beach. Kim Ali, the JKV Vice President of Sales, introduced us to the best life plan community, with all the advantages we were seeking. And she encouraged us to make the move while we are still in good health, just like an insurance policy bought before you need it. We have lived in JKV for 2 years as we wait for the completion of the new Westlake building. Since living here we are continuously pleased with the friendliness of the residents and staff. We love the broad variety of activities for education and entertainment, the outstanding amenities offered, the wonderful variety of meals served and the beautiful new facilities. We especially enjoy the park-like setting of the community with lakes, walking paths, unusual and fruitful trees, an incredible variety of exotic flowering plants and the wildlife is unique. We are grateful for the added opportunity for us to participate in the operation of our community. My wife serves on the dining committee and I am on the building, grounds, and housekeeping resident committee. This gives us the chance to be an active part of our JKV community. Our favorite activities include the pools, the fitness studio, the cultural arts center and the free technical assistance with our phones and computers. We also enjoy the libraries, clubs and organizations, the 5 dining venues and the off-campus educational and entertainment opportunities. Our children are thrilled with our decision to live here as our final residence, so they do not have to worry about our future medical care, no matter what the future may hold for us. We look forward to many more years of enjoyable living here at John Knox Village. Bob and Bonnie Miller
Two years ago we watched a marketing video for the Woodlands and based our deposit on that information. The designer for the Woodlands said that every garage space would be prewired for EVs in this new building. Recently I was told by a Board Member that the designer lied. The operations director said that the electrical panel was not designed for EV charging and they are installing 2 chargers. There are already over 20 EVs on campus. Within a month of moving to JKV, there was a slew of firings including the CEO for unknown reasons. There is an overall attitude among management that we residents are captives; that we paid our enormous deposits ($319K) and that we will either die quickly or not going anywhere due to the financial costs. Unlike other facilities, the escape cost is enormous. Read the contract. Also read the exclusion for mold. I first did a maintenance request in Oct 22 for excessive moisture in our villa. (AVOID VILLAS AT ALL COST. THEY ARE DUST MITE AND MOLD HAVENS.). It was the first of 9 maintenance requests over a 14 month period. Two were deleted which is not an isolated problem. They either say that the maintenance requests are done when they are not or delete them. I got very frustrated as I was told months ago that my AC was oversized so it wasn't running enough and that they would replace the unit in two days. I pointed this out in a meeting with four management types including the CEO and the Director of Plant Operations who said that might be indeed the problem. All of these people shook my man when leaving and I assumed that a handshake meant something. Nothing has been done. I have two dehumidifiers running 24/7, I dump 9 GALLONS everyday. They installed a whole house dehumidifier in a neighbor's villa. Both my husband and I have had severe allergies from this, requiring doctor's visits. Our dog almost had to be put down because a "massive allergic reaction". I am hoping to spread the word that senior facilities need to care about air quality for their residents. I have two air purifiers running 24/7. I have requested arbitration three times and have been ignored. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. BUYER BEWARE. JKV is resting on their laurels. After four requests to trim the tree in the picture which was also causing mold and the AC not to run, it got trimmed after the handshake but that's it.
