I recently visited Ivy Park at Wood Ranch, and I was really impressed. It’s one of the few places that’s truly thriving—not just in assisted living but in memory care too. The staff is so caring and kind, and you can feel the warmth as soon as you walk in. The environment is friendly, and the activities keep residents engaged and happy. It’s a place where you know your loved ones will be well cared for.

I wouldn’t recommend this facility to anyone who truly cares about their loved ones. The management here is absolutely terrible — unorganized, unresponsive, and clearly more focused on cutting costs than providing quality care. They constantly overwork their employees, expecting them to do the job of three people for minimum pay. It’s heartbreaking to watch hardworking staff burn out while management turns a blind eye. Residents deserve better. The staff do their best with what little support they get, but it’s clear they’re stretched too thin. Corners are being cut everywhere, and it shows — from missed medications to poor hygiene and neglected activities. As a former employee, I was constantly bullied by chef Jesus. He’d call me names and told me he was happy that I was leaving. As a manger you shouldn’t speak to anyone like that. He treats all workers like absolute garbage. He can’t even do a proper meal service by himself. When he does the food is always late and residents wait there for 2 hours. His other 3 chefs are able to do it no problem. You call yourself the head chef but you can’t do anything right. If you ask families and residents from this facility about me they’d tell you how much of a great worker I was. If you’re looking for a place with compassionate care and proper oversight, keep looking. This isn’t it. Sunrise was the best ivy park is not. This is the fourth time I write this review. They delete any bad reviews, that’s not right.
My mom moved into Sunrise a few months ago and I am just so impressed by both the management and the caregivers. Each one is so caring, professional and respectful. They are wonderful at responding quickly to me with the (many!) emails I have sent them. This last week they had a Casino Night to celebrate Sunrise's 40th anniversary and they invited both residents and their families. It was SO much fun. Great food, wonderful decorations and the dealers at each of the tables (blackjack, craps and roulette) were just great! Sunrise does so much to keep their residents engaged and active, and in addition, throw great parties!
I used to love working at Ivy Park. My residents were truly the heart of the job — they made every shift worth it. I built real relationships with them and their families, and knowing I was making a difference in their lives gave me purpose and joy. But everything changed when the management team did. The environment shifted from supportive and team-oriented to stressful, chaotic, and completely disorganized. My breaking point came when I was left alone on the floor — the only care staff for hours, with zero communication or support from management. That moment made it clear just how little they valued their frontline workers and how unsafe things were becoming for both staff and residents. To make things worse, I waited months for my employee review — something that should be standard practice. I didn’t receive it until I turned in my two-week notice. That was incredibly disappointing and felt like a final slap in the face after months of trying to stay hopeful things would get better. Even now, over three months after I left, I hear that they’re still constantly short-staffed. Nothing has changed, and the remaining team continues to be stretched far too thin. One of the most toxic parts of the environment was the head chef, Jesus. He does not know how to communicate respectfully with anyone. Walking into the kitchen while he was there gave me instant anxiety. He constantly yelled at staff, belittled them in front of others, and created a hostile environment that no one should have to work in — especially in a place that’s supposed to feel like home to the residents. Leaving Ivy Park was one of the hardest decisions I’ve made because I truly loved my residents. I know they loved me too, and their families always showed me appreciation and support. But in the end, no amount of love for the job could make up for the toxic leadership, poor communication, and unsafe working conditions. I had to put my own well-being first. No one deserves to work in a place where compassion is exploited and safety is optional.
