My wife is a resident at Indigo Manor. There is nothing negative that I can say about her care. The nursing staff along with all the other caring members provide a safe, secure well managed care program for her. Myself along with all our family are totally satisfied and can find NO complaints

Its been a year since my mother passed away but the knowing that the neglect from this facility is the reason why never leaves my thoughts. I received a phone call in the middle of the night stating my mom's potassium was high with a nurse asking me if I wanted her to be taken to the hospital. I advised them if my mom needed to be taken to the hospital to please do so. I woke up the next morning with a horrible feeling that something was just not right, instead of going to work I went straight to the facility where I found my mom and a catatonic state. Laying there with her eyes open Not able to Blink It was the most horrifying thing I've ever seen. I literally had a nurse come in and asked me about my mom being allergic to codeine and all I'm thinking is who cares right now my mother needs something to ease her. I asked several times why my mom was in the state and they just kept saying that sometimes people just are ready to go. The same woman that was ready to go as they said 3 days earlier called my daughter and asked if she could come pick her up cuz she had to get out of this place. And my biggest regret was not pulling her out of there. I spent weeks trying to get my mother's medical records but I kept getting denied since my mother didn't have a will. Up to this point I was able to make all decisions for my mother but now that my mother was gone they didn't want to release those records to me. I never found out the real calls and my mom's death. The corner just wrote it off as COPD but then the nursing home kept saying that my mom was just ready to die and that she wasn't eating that's why but she was just in the hospital and didn't have any long problems even though she had the COPD. I feel it was neglect maybe it was because my mom's potassium was so low maybe she needed to go to the hospital maybe that wouldn't have saved her. But because my mother is old that nurse couldn't make the decision to take my mom to the hospital because her potassium was so low that was the nurse's job. I don't know about these things that's why we trust in the nurses within the nursing home. Nothing I'll bring my mom back, but maybe this information might save yours.
***DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE! *** This review is based on recent experience from November 2024-December 2024 if I could give this facility 0 stars I would. From the top all the way down, we feel that this facility does not care for their residents. My mother was in this facility recently and my father is the only local family she has. He shared concern after concern with the nursing staff, with the business office, and social services and as a family we do not feel like they addressed anything. It wasn't until my sister and I got involved. It took two weeks to address my mother's cognitive decline and confusion. It took two weeks before my father was able to speak with the doctor. The doctor was not aware of ANY of our concerns. Lisa in the front office does not know how to handle customer concerns or how to do her job efficiently. The staff are very incompetent in their roles and how to execute their job. Lisa is not knowledgeable about Medicaid. She doesn't even help guide families in applying for Medicaid. She incorrectly filed my mother's Medicaid application. She also shared vital and sensitive information without written permission from either of my parents. Amy in social services lied on multiple occasions about services that were being provided and they never occurred. She also hung up on my father multiple times. I work out of town in this field and I was appalled at their lack of professionalism and compassion. We asked for the administrator on MULTIPLE occasions and Kenneth Nichols should be escorted out the door along with his Director of Nursing. The staff did not notate any of the concerns we had with her medication, possible UTI, or potential dementia. When it was time to discharge, they did not set up a safe discharge. Home Health was not set up, durable medical equipment needs were not evaluated. It wasn't until the day before she discharged that they tested her on stairs because there are stairs leading into her home. The only star that this facility can get is from their therapy department. If I were them, I would run! When my father requested a safe discharge plan the director of nursing threatened my father that they would call Adult Protective Services if he didn't come pick her up right then. My father unknowingly rushed to pick her up because they manipulated and lead him to believe that something would happen to him. They wheeled my mother to the door without discharge paperwork and without medications. Due to the lack of discharge preparation and assistance that is promised in the admissions agreement, my mother fell going into their home. She has also returned to the hospital 2 additional times. I do feel that due to their lack of urgency and actual care of patients, my mother's condition could have possibly had a different outcome. Please do not send your loved one to this facility. Based on recent reviews, it seems that this is a common concern.
The first day my mother was there, I wanted her out. Spoke with the social worker who asked me to give them a few days to make it right. There was no soap in the bathroom then entire month she was there. They said they couldn’t find the key to open the dispenser. I provided antibacterial soap for her. They do not have any decaffeinated coffee but water down the regular coffee and serve it as decaf. The window had an open area about 3/4 inches to the outside. Not sure if the screen was covering it to keep bugs out but on the few cold days we had I could feel the draft. You had to fight with the toilet paper dispenser to get the paper out. It finally fell off the wall and laid on the floor for about a week.it left a gaping hole in the wall so I stuffed it with paper towels because I didn’t want anything crawling out!! Saw dead roaches in the main hallway several times and gauze with dried blood as well! The place smelled musty and moldy. They had her sign a paper to switch her to Medicare so she would have better benefits while there and get the DME she needed when she went home. They failed to switch back her insurance and was not sent home with the wheelchair and 3 in 1 commode they said she would have! When my sister took her home and went to the pharmacy to fill her meds, they said we’re sorry but she wasn’t covered any longer and was dropped. It took my sister an hour and 45 minutes to re-enroll her back into the insurance plan she had prior!!!! Please do your research before sending your loved one here!!
The rehab center is great, all the people down at the gym are friendly and knowledgeable. Shout out to Sara, Molly and Mike. Our Nurse Nec goes above and beyond and truly cares for her patients. CNA Michelle is very sweet as well. The shower room could be a little cleaner and I recommend bringing your own food. For the most part our experience was good. Night time is a little hard as it is a nursing home atmosphere but that was our experience.
