Good afternoon, my grandmother has been in the below nursing home for a few months. I go once a week to visit her and as you walk in it's nice but as soon as you get on the elevator an awful smell hits you. I take the elevator down to the second floor and the smell gets worse. Below is a picture of what I walk out of the elevator to. Not only is this a hazard to the patients but also the employees. It has been like this for months. All they are doing is whipping it up with towels and trying to dry it up with a machine, I totally understand they are understaffed but this is unacceptable and extremely dangerous to inhale. The staff do the best they can being understaffed.

most of staff are truly special. however the pharmacy RNs have inability to read instructions; never follow prescribed directions and even spitefully withhold pain meds (prn as well as scheduled). they are unwilling to assist patients by in any way and blame corporate for being over worked. this is NEVER the case consistently. There are two reps that actually try to help and the rest couldn’t care less. The CNAs are mostly good willing people and are in fact overworked irrationally by corporate. It’s blatantly obvious that the owners\stockholders are the only consideration in day to day operations. IE, no disposable chucks, disinfectant wipes, bedside landline telephones for PSAP access (illegal), or personal internal or external communications; no paging system and no adequate climate controls. Although food is above average in quality. These facilities lack serious oversight by corporate executive officials and need to be critically reviewed consistently for countless violations. As far as sending your patients to them, think twice until eval’s have been positively reviewed by State of California. The remainder of items I intend to bring to regulatory awareness in due time. Changing this review. The DON, is awful to say the least. Most of the great nurses are gone. A few good ones still there. The place as a whole is pretty awful. They do not follow the state mandated staffing guidelines but from what I found out Genesis is doing this across the board. The place is dirty, outdated, no working air conditioning in the building except my dad’s room which is sad since no one wants to leave their room in the extreme heat of summer. Administration addresses nothing and the one person I could get to help me quit. Never been so happy to remove my father from a situation ever. Thankfully he’s at a non-Genesis facility now. Should have updated the old review long ago hopefully no one sent anyone there because of me. After getting him out of there in August been busy looking after him
I have almost NO complaints, can only praise the staff. They are caring and understanding and attentive. They helped find a way to care for my difficult relation, they helped me navigate the bureaucratic healthcare system and always call me if there is any issue. My one complaint: they are overworked and understaffed and most likely underpaid. They all deserve gold stars and raises!
Such great and caring staff. My mom was here for a few months and Julia, Jessica and the rest of the ladies there are amazing. Would definitely recommend this place. My mom told me they always had fun at activities as well so they definitely keep them engaged.
