The care for my demented aunt is perfect. The employees are very positive and communicate excellently if there are points of interest. During your weekly visit you will always be warmly welcomed in the Wevershuisje.

Since Huis op de Waard merged with Marente, everything has gone downhill. Some examples: Poor communication between caregivers, enormous staff shortages. My father only has one hand available, huge hand tremors, but he still just puts down a bowl of thin porridge for breakfast, without any help. Result: everything is on a sheet. I would often come in the afternoon and the traces of coffee from the morning were still on his face, with dirty nails and hands. This dignity cannot be offered either. For example, When I ask my father that he has an urge, despite having a catheter, the answer is: is the catheter running? Well, if I knew that, I wouldn't need you! Nails are not clipped, teeth are not bonded, hair is not shaved regularly and hair is not combed. Agreements about calling in the event of a fall are regularly not followed. They switch to another laundry, which means that there will be no clean sheets for the residents for 5 days. Some staff members are busier with their cell phones than taking care of people. When you come in the morning and see your father, you know who helped him. Rooms are dirty. On the last day he was alive, I washed my father myself together with a student nurse, but after washing she forgot to connect oxygen and put gel in her mouth. My father still had to have a “butterfly”, so that was immediately turned into a clinical lesson, above a dying person, how to place that butterfly and why. Disgusting! I have spent years trying to provide good care for my father. Fortunately, it is no longer necessary for him. He passed away. I feel sorry for the residents who still have to live there. It's a big chaos. Good staff leave, temporary workers come back, who do not first read the report in the morning and simply say: so Mr. Binnendijk, just wash up and then get out of bed. He was deathly ill. I have indicated to the care manager that it is better not to take in any more people as long as there is a staff shortage. I have the feeling that Marente only cares about money and not how the residents are cared for. By posting this review I am ending a period full of frustration. "
