The organization of De Mantelmeeuw (both in home care and in hospice care) is 98% dependent on a number of highly valued volunteers. We enjoy working with our care volunteers, cooking volunteers and other volunteers (such as gardeners, handyman service, newsletter editors, PR working group, collectors, etc.). For us, volunteers are the heart of the organization. They are committed to the organization with a lot of passion and love and determine the atmosphere and culture. Some volunteers have been associated with De Mantelmeeuw for more than 12.5 years. Every week they commit themselves to good care. Anyone who enjoys doing something for people in the final phase of their lives is very welcome as a volunteer at De Mantelmeeuw! My mother spent her last days there, and everyone did everything they could to make her feel comfortable. Nothing is too much, and there is also plenty of time for the family to talk to the volunteers. It's because I can't give more than 5 stars, but they all deserve them.
Almost home for terminal patients. Run by volunteers together with professionals.
