My husband and I did not have a good experience. He is diagnosed with dementia and can not be left alone. I simply wanted 4 hours a week to leave the house and make my own Doctor appointments or run errands. My only request was to keep him safe with a consistent familiar face. In the 4 times they scheduled there were 3 different caregivers. One caregiver even would not come back stating my husband was too active. A manager interviewed him before scheduling. Why was this caregiver even sent to our home? Their services did not fit our needs at all.
I first learned about Home Instead while working as a hospice nurse and interacting with their staff. The caregivers were always thorough and compassionate. When the time came for help with care for my elderly father, there was no doubt who my provider choice would be. Not only are the caregivers wonderful, but the office staff was helpful in assisting with any other care issues (i.e. VA paperwork, other care options). I would recommend them to anyone.
Home Instead was there for a family of ours that needed extra care and the family elected to keep them at Vista Veranda Assisted Living with additional help from Home Instead caregivers. We saw them everyday. They were so compassionate and thought of the entire family. All the caregivers went above and beyond.
