To whom it may concern I would like to thank HI desert Home Health services for providing the services of Nelson (my wife’s therapist). He really has a lot of knowledge and training. We trust him more than any doctor or therapist we have ever been involved with. He even keeps his appointments well. He always shows up with a smile and a good attitude and tries hard to help rehabilitate her broken back. Nelson keeps her to her exercises and really cares for her continued advancement. She requires less drugs to control her pain currently and can do things like get up from the bed and go to her chair unaided. We know there is still work left to do for sure but she is trying to get well and Nelson helps a great deal. Thank You Mark and Carolyn

I am writting this with a lot of anger and tears rolling down my face. I have had a lot of issues from this facility concerning my loved one care and lots of documented negligence. I feel like this is just a factory for those who cannot speak for themselves and given a chance to fight for their life. My loved one came in this facility with some brain injury and had not even been there two weeks and already had some bed sores due to lack of being turned and being put on a pressure sore mattress despite requesting for one and was promised she will be placed one. I walked in there afew days only to find out this never happened and when I asked why I was told she nevet needed one because she had no bedsores. A few days later, she developed stage 2 bedsores and the excuse was that she came with bedsores from the hospital which was not true. My sister needed splints for her hand to protect her hands from contracting but it took over a month to order the splints despite numerous attempts to requested the one rude OT if I could just get the kind she needed so I can purchase them but never had from them. I even asked the resident doctor who said she would research and let me know but never had from them despite numerous follow up. I visit my loved one daily and would walk there with my sisters hands curved back on the wrist and her laying on them and have pictures to back it up not once but multiple times. This has caused alot of problems with her hand that you can barely touch them without her crying then the current rude and insensitive resident "doctor" thinks he is an expact and states she is in no pain yet when given pain medication she relaxes and her respiration goes down. Of course she feels pain and the nursing stuff are aware. He has not even been with her for two weeks yets he plays and expart. He should never treat any humans! He even had the guts to tell me in a care plan meeting that my sister is "Brain dead" yet her brain stem is intact and keeps on talking about her prognosis when I have clearly stated I understand but my family would like my sister to be given avery chance to fight and its only been less than 3 months since her injury. This has triggered me write this review because it has affected me mentally. My sister lays down on her back facing the ceiling and they claim she cannot when have videos recorded showing that she reacts when I mention some things to her and she cries triggering her respiration. When I visit she actually triggers the vent and when being changed or touched on the painful hand she will will cry and respiration goes up but oxygen level always good yet the so called doctor will argue its not voluntary and she does feel pain. I have asked for a second opinion to re-evaluate but the doctor has said no. I feel like the hospital which is affilliated with this facility tricked me into transfering her here to empty the hospital bed promising that she will get rehabillitated but that was not true. There is no wholistic approach in this facility and you have to keep begging. My loved is deteroriating so fast and this is painful to watch. My loved one blood sugar dropped below 60 twice and the other day the doctor writes an order to discontinue accu checks yet she is diabetic and had an incident of low sugar before I gave a one star because of the great Nursing stuff that understand their assignment and doing their best to take of the patients despite being short stuffed. Some of the nurses and caregivers can be rude but majority are nice. One nurse even told my sister hand was swollen because of heart failure when she clearly has no such diagnosis but was due to to tight splints on her hands and not elevating them. Linda the DON has been such a great help but there is is only so much she can do. I NEED MY LOVED OUT OF HERE! The subacute housekeepers are great especially Silvia and keeps the place and patients comfortable despite the tiny rooms. The RTs are knowlegeable and provides more info than Doctores.
My mom was in this facility for almost 4 months after a bad fall and they took such a great care of her. The staff is absolutely wonderful, shout-out to Leila the social worker there, she was a massive help in figuring out the next steps for my mom. Everyone went above and beyond to make her feel at home during a difficult time. So grateful for their support and patience.
My husband went here for respite in December and came home with his clothes ripped, Bell’s palsy and overmedicated. I tried calling and talking to the people, but they kept hanging up on me and nobody wanted to take responsibility. I filed and report with the state of California and San Bernardino county. Not a good place
Terrible facility. Totally unprofessional. They never gave us updates on my sister condition we have to call all the time for any updates. My mom went to visit my sister and they had her hair full of gunk and her hygiene wasn't taken care of. My sister went there because of a very unfortunate event and we trusted this place and to see her in such horrible care is baffling. She is 40 years old and needs to be on physical therapy which they took her off of, they said she wasn't responding or talking. Well in the visit she was talking perfectly fine and explaining how horrible she is being treated. I'm in the process of moving her out. Terrible place please don't send your loved one here. Oh and on top of all this you can't even get a hold of anyone there. So if you ever wanted to monitor your loved one or wanted to call you can just forget about it.
