Heritage Hills is unique. This is a senior independent living community with memory care on premises. Here you can enjoy living in your own private home with superb service and the main meal of the day beautifully provided. The entire staff is wonderful and really cares about the residents. The community itself is a great friendly group that stays connected and enjoys the many activities and dining together. In short Heritage Hills is an excellent and relatively affordable choice for seniors.

My parents moved here from out of state a couple months ago and since moving - they have loved their place and everyone that works and lives there. Eric has been such a blessing and if it wasn't for him - I don't think I would've been able to get my parents up here. A sincere thank you to each and every one of you for all you do.... for the seniors and their families!
We made the difficult decision to move my mom out of her home into a memory care facility two years ago. We were amazed at how well it went. Heritage Hills, with only 20 residents, was the perfect place. The staff--everyone from Eric who facilitated the decision to Rhonda, the resident manager, to Tamara, the activities director, to Autumn in housekeeping, and all the other caregivers--made and continue to make Mom comfortable, happy, and at home. When I have a concern, it is taken care of immediately. Although I worried initially, this has been the best decision I ever made for my mom. I recommend Heritage Hills without reservation. UPDATE (2/22/24): We continue to be very pleased after 2 1/2 years. The staff is very caring and pays close attention to mom's needs. For example, mom wants to wear the same sweater every day, which is not hygienic. Rather than making a huge issue of is (it's a security and comfort thing for mom), they come in every night after she goes to sleep, wash it, and return it before she wakes up. How thoughtful! There are a wide range of activities for mom, and she has her favorites. We are very thankful to HH.
The Memory Care Unit was a huge disappointment. We found my mom in soiled clothes often, and had to clean her ourselves even after asking staff. Many times activities did NOT occur as planned when we visited just to take her to something. Her labeled clothes went missing, and only a few of the staff were professional. We met with the MC Mgr and made our concerns known but had NO improvements. The billing was wrong for months. We took mom out and are very sad about the lack of care at this facility. Making the move to put a loved one in MC is hard enough without other problems. The rooms are nice and food was good.We wanted her basci care, and cleanliness is one that did not happen regularly. The owner did NOT return numerous calls when we tried to resolve the problems.
This is the best facility in the Hendersonville and Asheville area dedicated solely to the various forms of dementia (vs a misc medical patients mix). This has a huge and positive impact on the focus of everything I’ll share. Additionally, there are only 20 residents—an exceptional patient-to-staff ratio allowing each resident to be familiar with each staff member enhancing a feeling of safety and familiarity. Additionally it allows the staff to know each residents needs and limitations; personal care. My mother-in-law has been a resident for three years. She now has moderate dementia. Since we live in the neighborhood and volunteer to lead activities we have hundreds of hours in the facility. Staff: The Supervisor (Rhonda) the Activity Director) Tamara and the Med Techs (Mila, Michaela, Cassandra, Jake, Mark, Michelle and Kristina) work with the residents as though they were family. It’s a ministry to them; they treat everyone w compassion and respect. We’ve been called three times at night about medical issues. When we arrived in 20 minutes they had stabilized Mom and had an ambulance crew in the room. There is also a visiting doctor, nurse podiatrist that specialize in elder care. A physical therapy center (balance, strength etc) is a golf cart drive away. All medications are delivered and can be rushed and there are two hospitals within a 15 minute drive. During both the COVID and flu outbreaks the staff kept everyone safe vs a facility down the hill in which both ran rampant (with deaths) There are numerous activities throughout each day (crafts, games, pet therapy, bingo, movies, story reading, etc—with countless pictures in the newsletter of residents enjoying themselves). Additionally, a professional musician (who plays at Biltmore) leads both chair-exercises and a musical hour on the guitar. King is just as loving and tender as you can imagine. The Activities Director ensure that the entire facility (and each door) is dressed up for each major and minor holiday along with hosting holiday specific treats and crafts. She also hosts Holiday Family Celebrations and meals. Additionally, the Activities Director hosts numerous outings in the large van (like you would take from an airport to your hotel). These include to an afternoon on a pontoon boat, to get ice cream and a drive through a large holiday light display. The everyday-food is plentiful and excellent-served on plates and table cloths (vs steel trays at other facilities). There are also snacks! There is a beautician on the grounds that can provide all types of hair and nail service. The grounds are professionally maintained-covered in flowers and greenery. There is also an enclosed private garden area where residents can safely enjoy the outdoors and family can visit. This Spring (2024) each resident may enjoy their own raised garden which they or staff can care for. With our hundreds of hours in three years we have been nothing but impressed with the staff, the programs and level of care we’ve both witnessed and experienced with our 90 year old family member. We give our fullest recommendation to your family.
