Mother was transferred to Heritage Hall from Hampshire Memorial (part of Valley Health). I had questioned her mental state and suggested to the staff that she probably had a severe UTI since she was talking out of her head. I was told by the nurse practitioner at Hampshire Memorial that she had “hospital psychosis” from being moved from room to room so much. Since they were more concerned with getting her out of their facility to free up a bed, they sent her to the nursing home although she had tested positive for Covid. I never got to see her again until much later, and every time I called her (which was a major feat, as she wasn’t coherent enough to know how to use her cell phone and I would have to wait until someone at the desk would answer the phone) she would talk as if she had severe dementia. She never received any medical care or testing until I got the call saying that she was being transported to Warren Memorial and was close to death. She was found to be in septic shock from a UTI! She was then transported to Winchester Medical Center and put in ICU. She was then transferred to a regular room and we as a family were told by the doctor that she would never recover and hospice care was started. She was never lucid enough to speak again and suffered until her death in January. I blame Hampshire Memorial and Heritage Hall for the unnecessary suffering that she endured at the end of her life, and I would never send a loved one to this facility for their end of life care.

I visit this facility every day to see my dad who they have been assisting for over 5 weeks now. Everyone has been so nice to him, provided great care for him and assist him with any issues he/we may have had. There is no other place I would want him to be. He was in another local care center, wish we would have come here first. I’d like to give a BIG thank you to everyone who has helped make his stay as pleasant as it can be. I have read some of the negative comments and couldn’t disagree more. For us this has been as pleasant as a stay as we could expect and our family thanks you all!!
My mother in law was a patient of Heritage Hall in front Royal Virginia. She was there nearly a month. During which time she developed a hoarse cough. It eventually took her voice. This facility never did anything to treat this illness. On my first trip to see her I noticed the whole 200 wing smelled of urine. After talking to my mother in law we found out she was left in urine wet clothes and bedding for hours at a time. This after she pressed the call button for assistance to use the rest room and was ignored. This is a dangerous facility that should be shut down. This feedback will be followed by reports to the proper authorities.
Staff is caring both to the residents and to visiting family. The staff kept me well informed as I was the main contact for my father while he was in the facility. My dad loved the food and they would get him more if he would ask for it. They told us he would need 6 or 7 weeks of therapy before going home and he was right on schedule until he had another medical setback.
I am the patient. I a.m here for the second time for I V antibiotics they my tunnell catheter. The staff that I have dealt with are awesome. Two of the nurses looked at my right foot and said I had to go to the hospital. I went to the hospital and my right foot was infected again Thank you Cathy and Anne. When I came back from the hospital I was hugged from Anne, then Cathy once I was was going down the hall, then Jenna came running to me to say she missed me, with a hug and Alexis came gave me a hug and said she missed me. They are my family which includes others that have helped me.Everyone here is my new family and that includes the therapy staff. I would tell anyone to check into Heritage Hall Front Royal if need rehab or nursing home. Food has been good, and the activities are fun with painting, and bingo and other things. Thank you Heritage Hall Front Royal staff for all you do for me and the other patients and the family and friends of the patients. Also I love dogs thank you ythe service dogs. They help patients heal. Thank you...
