My mother has been at Heritage Green for 8 months. Everything that I have to say about Heritage Green has been positive!! I have always felt like everyone was friendly and helpful.. it feels like family. If there's ever anything my mom needs they will try their best to accommodate her. If you have any problem at all they are more than willing to sit down and talk to you. I was up there today for a residence meeting I mentioned something that needed to be done whenever they had time and they were knocking at the door of my mom's room to get it done. Not everyone is going to be happy with everything but I am very thankful that I have a place to put my mom that is close by and it's clean and friendly and good food!! So thank you Heritage Green staff for all you do!!

This location has some very friendly staff who put in a lot of effort. They do have regular events that are absolutely wonderful. Heritage Green is a beautiful facility and they have very good cooks. That is where the wonder ends. This location is regularly HIGHLY understaffed. They have an EXTREMELY high turnover rate. There are many employees with terrible work ethics. Many employees can be seen chatting on the phone. There have been many medical professionals with a horrible attitude. These attitude transfers over to the residence care. There are employees that are inappropriate and do not represent a professional atmosphere. There are many times when the amount of patients to care staff, medication staff, and nurses is a ration of 1:40 or many times more. This includes their memory care unit. The amount of negligence that has occurred in this facility is absolutely horrendous. This is a place you can send a loved one who can do more for themselves and the comfort of knowing they have access to page for help.
They are very unprofessional when it comes to hiring staff will never referred anyone to them. They hire me I went through the whole process got my PCA certificate because I was told needed it to start got the certificate in a week call them and told them I received it and just waiting for my start date. I received a call Friday that I start Monday here’s Monday come and receive another call telling me that they went with another person for the job.
I’m so happy tonight while writing this review. My 92 year old Dad has been at Heritage Green Hanover AL 10 days. He called me tonight and said “I’m really having a good time here”. He loves the food. Enjoys the staff. Especially the ladies that take the trash out of his studio and the dining staff that know him by name and the therepist which are so nice and patient and encouraging with him, and Christian with activities and transport who buckled Dad and wheelchair in so safely to go to his nearby appointment where I met them. Some staff stop in just to check on him and talk and say he’s easy to get along with. He knows how hard they work all day and thank them always. Get on the list for a studio or larger room if you need to move your loved one to AL. The marketing staff, Holly and Sarah are both terrific and knowledgeable. They know me by name when I visit and great with answers to questions or point me to correct person for answers per department. Getting better and better as days go on. Start talking to your loved one TWO years before YOU think they need it as I did with my father. So many miss out on enjoying the last good years of their life by being isolated in a house all alone most of the days. Don’t wait until they need Memory Care, as they may just be happy in Assisted Living. I’m thankful I found Heritage Green.
Heritage Green came highly recommended. Our first encounters were very positive. My mother in law moved in April 2021 and by the end of July 2021 she had fallen and was in the hospital with a broken hip. Our family does understand that these things happen especially in elderly patients. The problem is the number of residents that have fallen there in that time period. My mother in law fell Sunday and there had been another fall on that Friday night of another resident. After speaking with the director she stated that they had more falls recently and they were making changes to the night team and had an RN come in to retrain the night team. My wife had a meeting with the director and nurse to plan for my mother in law’s discharge from rehab to come back to Heritage Green. We were assured that they could take care of her and went over the changes that had been made. The meeting was positive and my wife felt good about things. The Friday of her discharge from rehab the director of Heritage Green called and stated that they had sent a nurse to evaluate her and that she could not come back to Heritage Green because they couldn’t meet her needs and she was a fall risk. We knew nothing about them evaluating her. After this of course we had to scramble and spend quite a bit of money for her to stay in rehab until we found a place for her. Heritage Green did refund her August payment and partial payment for July care. We are very involved in our Mother’s care and Heritage Green was a huge disappointment. Her life is forever changed because of this incident.
