Tonight my loved one had to flee this nursing home for their own safety. 4x in in 4 days was refused food. The poor nurses had to find food. They were not fed a diabetic diet even though they live with high glucose and was there due to a diabetic complications. If you want your loved one neglected and threatened send them here. The staff have all been kind and helpful. The therapy, speech, physical and occupational therapy have been very positive and supportive. The staff have addressed our our questions and concerns
Our 98 yr old Aunt seems to really like the facility. She loves the meals. She never cooked so it’s a big perk for her. Everyone is really nice and they have a lot of nice events. I could tell she had a bath recently.
In the few months since UPMC sold out to We Care the facility has plummeted in cleanliness and good quality. A mouse was scurrying around the activities room. Several residents say the food is inadequate in amount and taste, and they no longer are given choices. We have several.people visiting her, and determining if and when to consider a move. A current edit to the original post is that the staff have always been kind, and my family member comments about how well she is treated. This edit is several months later than my original- and the cleanliness continues to be lacking. The activities room needs major cleaning. If the housekeeping staff cannot get to it, an outside agency should be hired.
This place was better than I expected. My wife loved it and so that I and so did the patient very happy keep up the good work.
