Showed up visit my father who was there one month. We were shuffled out of the room so it could be disinfected. My father was out in a wheelchair and we went to the family room. After an hour we asked if the room is finished being disinfected...we were told it would be another hour. My father was very uncomfortable in the wheelchair and needed to use the restroom. Because his room was not ready he was taken to the restroom in the hallway. Because he could not stand, he was told to use the bathroom in his diaper! He was very upset and we returned to the family room. He really had to use restroom and was uncomfortable, so he asked me to go and see if the room was ready. It was not. A nurse, Amy, asked if there was something that I needed outside his room. I told her he needed to use the restroom and he was very uncomfortable...Amy was very curt with me and told me that we would have to wait until the room was ready. If we knew how long the wait was going to be we would have had expected it. Nurse Amy raised her voice to me and I asked her not to raise her voice to me. She insisted that that was her regular speaking voice. She was yelling. It was absolutely ridiculous! I asked her to lower her voice and speak to me like normal person. She continued to be very loud and disrespectful. She said she was talking loud because I was wearing a mask over my face which made no sense Another 30-40 minutes passed before his room was ready. Once we got back into the room we waited another 10-15 minutes before someone came in to put him back in the bed. I know working in a nursing home is not the most enjoyable job however I think that patients should be treated with a lot more respect. If this place was trying to impress the family, then they failed. I wouldn't recommend this place.

Needs help, not the staffs fault they are understaffed. Good employees really seem to care about the patients- well atleast most of them. We loved Most all staff. Both my parents had both good and bad to say. Dana(RN was the best!) Owners should pay more to keep good staff. One of my parents passed due to a fall and had they been properly staffed he could possibly still be with us today. Only reason I’m giving this many stars are for the ppl who are at ground zero with the patients day in and day out. They need more pay & more help.
Amazing staff! Hennis Care Center takes pride in caring for my mother and providing not only wonderful care, but a place that feels like home for her. We have experienced other places in the area and nothing tops the attention and skill that we get from the staff here. I would, and I do recommend this place to anyone. They have made a very unfortunate situation much easier for my family.
Today I was in the home due to my loved one being there for rehabilitation. While there I heard a few families complaining about the care that their loved one is not receiving . I also witnessed the boss or what I assume was the boss yelling at a young lady asking her what her problem was and that she has no sympathy for her because she is going on 14 days with none off. The young lady explained that she was not looking for sympathy that she wanted to provide good care and that she works 7 days a week , three jobs with no days off. This supervisor was very callus and ignorant. The girl happened to be taking care of my loved one so I pulled her aside to thank her for the exceptional care she provides and to not let someone of this ignorance make her cry and bless this girls heart because she said "Oh no, I'm not crying at all from her remarks , I don't care what she has to say . All I care about are these people getting the care they deserve ." She had also been up all night from working a midnight shift at her other job. Now that is dedication and a hard worker. About 30 minutes later, I hear this woman in the hallway again but this time she is up at the nurses station and cussed while explaining something to the nurses. What kind of nursing home is this ? Who would allow this woman to be in charge of anything ? I hope to get my loved one out of here as soon as possible . To the young lady that is new at this home and is experiencing this type of treatment , please find a job that appreciate's your work ethic, drive and compassion for others. As to Hennis of Dover you should be ashamed of yourselves and the lack of staff and care you provide to these people who need help. You should consider treating your staff better and you would not find yourselves short of help . Pat's porch of Hennis is terrible. My mom was in there and the staff were rude and short with her. They let her lay in so much pain untill she had to return to the hospital. They were not caring at all. They said after she returns to the hopsital she cant come back for rehab. Praying we find somewhere more caring for her after this hoapital stay. I do not recommend this place for your loved ones. Terrible place!
