I so much appreciate everything this Facility had done for my Dad. Unfortunately I was not there when he passed but the faculty there was awesome taking care of him making his stay as comfortable as possible! They are very caring! I would definitely recommend this Facility to any veteran and their families!

My husband has been there for a month and a half. I was under the impression that he was receiving vital therapies, I was wrong. Apparently they were under the impression that he was there for end of life care, that could not be further from the truth. He has missed appointments with the VA because they refuse to communicate. They are slow to answer his call bell, if they answer it at all. Sometimes it's not even within his reach. One day his tray of food ended up on the floor & no one even noticed even after he hit the call bell. He literally sat in his own feces all night because no one checked on him. I'm about to take him home & get hospice into our house. Disgusted.
My husband was admitted to Hempfield Manor after an amputation for rehabilitation. I can’t say enough great things about this facility’. Every single person , from administration, nurses, doctors and rehabilitation staff was WONDERFUL. Especially Linda She was an angel!! The care and attention given to my husband brought me to tears, it was like family. For the first time in a long time, I could relax. Knowing my husband was in good hands. Thank you so much Hempfield Manor!!! You guys are the best, so professional, knowledgeable and kind.
My mother was in this facility 16 days for rehab after she broke her hip. During the 16 days she was without oxygen three separate times. The last time was for multiple hours. I never received a phone call from anyone about the incident I called at 8:33 at night and spoke to a higher up who told me what happened but they failed to document any of the information including vitals from the evening, or even the phone call she had with me. They also never documented any of the times that I spoke to them during the week leading up to the third incident when I raised concern about her having problems talking and being confused. Also she had a blood pressure of 111/44 to which they weren’t concerned with . Her call bell was on for 46 minutes. I can not stress enough to advocate for your loved one and make sure you send emails to the administrators after speaking with anyone about anything so you have a trail to follow and keep a journal with times dates and NAMES of who you spoke with!! Update just found moms survey (from a complaint) from the health department and the statements in there show moms oxygen levels at 70 from one nurse and 60s from another employee.
My grandmother has had two stays at Hempfield manor. The reason that she had two stays is because I was so pleased with her first stay. The staff from the Administrator on down confirmed that I made the right decision the second time as well. My grandmother also enjoyed the food. The staff was courteous, patient and friendly. The home is also very clean. I am confident that my grandmother would not have gone home to live independently again without their services. I am very grateful for the care that she received. Thank you and keep up the excellent work.
