One of the best assisted living facilities in the area! They have a great activities program, and go above and beyond for their residents. Definitely would recommend for anyone looking for a new home for themselves or a loved one.

This is an amazing ALF! They treat the residents like family. I highly recommend!
I recently had the pleasure of visiting Hawthorne Inn of Brandon, and I must say, it was a wonderful experience. I was greeted with genuine warmth and hospitality. Jeff, in particular, stood out with his exceptional service and friendly demeanor. He was knowledgeable about communities. The staff was friendly and greeted everyone with a smile. The building is beautiful. The residents where smiling, walking around and simply feeing the ducks. It was such a heartwarming sight. I highly recommend Hawthorne Village to anyone looking for a wonderful place to call home.
If I could give this place zero stars I would. When my mother I first arrived, we were pleased with the care she was receiving. Fast forward a few months…. My mother wasn’t getting taken care of. For example… she would sit in a soiled depend for hours on end and in spoiled sheets. She would be in the same clothes sometimes for a week. Her hair nor her teeth were ever brushed. Her room wasn’t clean. The staff would bring my mothers meals to her room (which is not allowed) and my mother wasn’t able to eat due to the fact that she didn’t have a large surface to eat on. She lost about 15 pounds. My mother was very isolated in that facility and never left her room. She became depressed due to the lack of socialization. We would sometimes find my mom on the floor when we would visit due to her falling. She had bruises on her arms. When we would ask for help, it seemed like no one wanted to help and they were short staffed. Needless to say, my mother is no longer a resident at that awful place. Please DO NOT send your loved ones to this facility. They will not get the care they need and deserve.
In this small town there are a handful of rehabilitation centers. My dad has been in 2 of them. From the outside, we were always told Hawthorne was the best for their rehab piece. His first time staying at Hawthorne was 2020 when he had a partial hip replacement. It was in the midst of the COVID pandemic starting. Their staff always seemed knowledgable and helpful, weekends were like a ghost town with less help but we were able to visit more when not working. Fast forward to this year, he had a few falls and was sent to rehab to build his strength. First few days in the facility and he fell again. He got admitted on a Friday and over the weekend it seemed that no one was working as it took anywhere from 30-45 minutes for his help light to be addressed. We complained that Monday and the admissions lady helped us write up a grievance form. His medication didn't come over from the hospital correctly and the two nurses on duty (I believe one was training)- were very nice and helpful and called the doctor for us and got the issues fixed. After the fall, we asked for his room to be moved and they obliged. He had his moments where he pushed his button and couldn't get help and he would call us and we would call the facility (after hours is the worst as NO ONE answers) and we would ask them to go address his needs and they would. He spent almost 2 months in the facility, about a month before discharge we had a care plan meeting where they advised us of his progress and they gave us an estimated discharge date. They also asked us as a family if we had any questions, concerns, etc. I made mention that the walker he was using at home (4 wheels, brakes, seat) was too small for him and he needed a walker for taller people. I was told they would look into it for us. A few weeks later about a week before discharge I received a phone call asking about the Home health agency we would like to use for his OT/PT/Speech, I advised of a company we had worked with before and had great results, I even gave the lady their phone number. At that time I also asked about the special walker we had requested in the meeting and the woman I spoke with acted like surprised like this wasn't something discussed at the care plan meeting. Fast forward again to the day he got discharged, I arrive to find a brand new plain Jane silver walker (which we have one at home already) and not the one requested. I immediately call the company on the invoice so that we aren't charged for a walker we didn't need. I bring my dad home and later that night I receive a phone call from not-the home health we requested. I advised we didn't need their services as we requested a different agency. Since that day (7/20) I have called Hawthorne countless times a day and left at least 6 messages for someone in social services to call me back. Still no response. So now my dad has been home for almost a week and no nurse has been out and he hasn't received any OT/PT. If Hawthorne cared about their patients as much as they say they do, they would've rectified this situation last week when I left the first message. It is sad that one employee can tarnish such a good experience so quickly.
