The facility is clean and desk staff is very welcoming. Policies regarding emergencies and security are superb. Attitude towards, and treatment of residents is very respectful. I would feel extra confident enrolling a family member here. Appears to be an amazing, positive place to work, too!

First impression: clean, well maintained. Receptionist pleasant, helpful, clear direction to sign and to patient room. Nurse and staff helpful and proactive. Miss odachowski , receptionist 2nd floor was waiting for my visit to Mr reed. Ease of location, no unpleasant encounters. Found HH very professional.
Hawthorne Hill is spotless! No odors but clean. My aunts room has everything she needed and it was private enough that she felt secure. The security when you first arrive was tight and although some may think that is excessive, I thought it was fantastic that security was taken seriously. I asked my Italian aunt “how was the food” -she said “OK, pretty good” that’s a compliment coming from a line of fantastic cooks and bakers. What we liked most was the people who worked there. The ones we saw were accommodating and kind . She could hear a woman constantly crying out loudly from the room behind hers making it hard for her to fall asleep. That’s hard to hear but she felt sad for that woman who may have pain or be confused so she said she’d just sleep with the TV on. My aunt is 90, as sharp as a tack , and still very compassionate towards others. Hopefully she will sleep, and be up and safely walking again very soon .
I wouldn’t send my dog to this place!! Our dear friend, 92 years old was sent to this awful place for rehab after a fall at home. She has no family so we have become her family and want only the best for her. While we were visiting her on Feb. 1st she was wanting ice for her knee. I told her to press the button for the nurse. She said “Don’t bother, they never come.” I pushed the button and waited, pushed the button again, still no one came! It was a half hour later I went down to the nurses station and asked “What does it take to get a nurse in this place?” She said “Push the nurse button.” I said “ I did that a half hour ago!!” The next day our dear friend fell in the bathroom and broke her shoulder, elbow and hip!!” We have power of attorney and are also her health care proxy, they never even called us! We got a call the next day!! In her 92 years she had never been in the hospital and now she was there scared and alone because we were never called!!! She had to undergo surgery on her hip, the first surgery of her life. We asked her who was with her when she fell. She said no one, just me and my walker. I have to wonder if the nurse call button was ignored once again! She is being moved to rehab again today and we made sure she would not return to Hathorne!!
Hathorne Hill is a beautiful and well appointed facility. The entry provides the staff and patients with a safe environment. It is clean and spacious for all visitors.
