This facility is good if you, the resident, can take care of yourself. If you, the resident, require assistance from the staff, it will be very inconsistent and not through. The medical staff is very short-handed and only work 8 hours a day 5 days a week. I would not recommend this facility. Very expensive for what you get.

My mom has been at Hart Heritage for a year. It's hard to transition a parent from home to assisted living but the staff have been wonderful at going above and beyond to not only meet her care needs but to make her feel loved and valued. They know her preferences and the things that make her happy. They go out of their way to honor those preferences and show her love. They have exceeded my expectations in so many ways.
After leaving the hospital my father needed 24/7 care. Within 3 days the staff had a place for him, moved him in and set up hospice care for him. Medical problems, dementia, and macular degeneration, is a challenge, but the staff take great care of him. A special thanks to Kim Cooke for making it all happen so quickly. She made the transition smooth, handled the details and constantly kept me informed.
My review is on behalf of my father who has been at Hart Heritage in Forest Hill going on two years now. I have been consistently impressed with all aspects of the level of care he has received, the condition and cleanliness of the facility, and the quality of the staff. Some of the high points: • Staff are top-notch. From the administrative staff that run the place, work out agreements, manage billings, etc. to the nursing staff and caregivers, these are consummate professionals and it’s clear that they care. They know the residents personally, their idiosyncrasies, their habits, and their particular needs. Food is quality and residents can take their meals in the cafeteria or join visitors in one of the waiting areas while they eat. Other grooming services like haircuts are available on site. The vibe is more akin to a hotel or condominium than a hospital or medical facility. I don’t think I can offer a higher praise for an assisted living facility than that. • Patients have regular visits from a doctor and arrangements with a pharmacy service that manages medications. This is something Dad couldn’t manage by himself and many of the home health care services wouldn’t do. Seems like such a basic requirement for elder care but so hard to find a service that can take that responsibility and do it right. • Security is always a concern in any assisted living facility, and Dad was a wanderer at home. Patients at HH with dementia are prevented from just walking out unsupervised, though the place never gives the impression of being “locked down”. • The facility itself is pleasant, clean and well-maintained. Patient rooms are like upscale hotel rooms, with (secure) windows overlooking the grounds. The surrounding area is bucolic, woodsy, and backs up to a local nature trail that affords some opportunity to take loved ones out for walks on a nice day. In a perfect world I would be able to make the time to care for Dad at home, but with a full-time job and family of my own, Hart Heritage is the next best thing. I can rest easy knowing that when I can’t be there, he is being taken care of and has the company of people who care. Really can’t ask for more than that.
My loved one lived at Hart Heritage for about two years. Hart Heritage is clean, well-maintained, and provided great care in a warm environment. It can be a difficult to transition to assisted living, and Hart Heritage staff are extremely attentive and patient.
