Beebe Hospital sent my mom to Harbor Healthcare for extended IV antibiotic treatment, and the first red flag was when they refused to let me see her in her room. Naturally I was not okay with that and it was a battle to get in there. It was stark, to say the least. My poor mother looked up at me from her bed after the first night and simply said "you gotta get me outta here." One of her caregivers, upon being asked for assistance with her bed pan, told my mom "I hate doing this" and simply walked out of the room. Neglected for hours on end, she said much of the staff clearly didn't want to be there any more than she did. Thankfully I was able to get her into a different facility. Zero stars would be a more appropriate option for this place.

I wish I could leave zero stars. There was one nurse that was fantastic... if you want a place that does the bare minimum this is it. Most of the staff will tell you to get your loved ones out asap. When you have questions there is no answers, only oh let me ask to find out. Never again. Worst rehab stay ... my grandmother has been to 7 different centers over the last 6 years.
I was just released as a patient here today. I would give zero stars if I could. The cna's are hit and miss as far as care. One day it was 8 hrs before I got any help. One time when I rang to be cleaned up I was told I just washed my hands. Twice I was double briefed and that was after I addressed it with the nursing supervisor. Nothing is followed up on. Bed sheets are ripped, no towels in the morning. The food is awful and served cold every meal. 2 nights ago i heard an cna tell a man in the hallway that has dementia that if he doesn't stay in his room, his fsmily isnt going to visit. Not right and sad to treat a person that way. Pt and occupational therapists are awesome and go out of there way to help you. It is now called breakwater village Do not put your loved ones in this place, they do not treat you like a human.
I just got to see my grandmother for the first time since the pandemic began. I was extremely worried she would be on the decline. She has always thrived on visits from family. When I come to see her at Harbor Health she is always clean and well fed. She told me someone bathes her just about every day and she's back to meeting with physical therapy. I especially want to thank Helen a staff member who has taken extra special care of my grandmother. She's been a caregiver that has gone above and beyond for my loved one. Grandmom knows exactly when she works and when she'll be off for vacation. I'm so thankful my grandmother had a friend while being stuck this past year. I've been to other nursing homes and I can assure you this is the best care. Reception always answers my questions, is helpful and pleasant to talk to. Thank you Harbor Health staff for all that you're doing.
my father spent his last 6 months at Harbor Healthcare. Bought my dad $80 shoes, and a new wardrobe due to his dramatic size change from cancer. I brought 7 shirts/sweaters/slacks and they were sent to laundry to get his name put on and nothing came back from there. Ever. Brought him another set of 7/7/7 things and they were there for one day. 3rd time, 4th time we brought all of his clothes eventually. He never had anything on but a pair of gross shorts that were 2 sizes too small and an undershirt. His closet completely emptied. We would ask and every time you were told oh they went down to laundry to get his name put on it and yet every day we visited which was five out of 7 days per week, same shorts and same white T-shirt is all he ever had on and nothing in his drawers or closet. I'm sorry slept in a wheelchair in the diaper, they were short-staffed he was not well looked after. Spoke to Dr., who couple of times provided an IV fluids because he was so dehydrated. But told us that he had a terminal illness so IVs and such were not warranted and comfort care was all he would receive. He did not have much comfort or much care there.
