My dear Aunt passed away this morning, after a 9 day stay at the hospital, due to this place neglecting their patients. She had informed my mom she had covid and not to visit for a few days. My mom proceeded to call her nurse and the nurse told her that my aunt was not sick, she was fine, others had covid but she did not. Two days later my mom receives a call from my aunts doctor that she is in the hospital with the flu A, pneumonia and a clasped lung and needed surgery. So how do you go from she not sick she's fine to being in the hospital two days later with all the above, and to top it all off, none of the family has received any type of notification from the home that she was taken out by ambulance to the hospital to this very day. Please think twice before sending your family, friends etc... here. I don't usually post reviews but this has me extremely upset how someone can be overlooked or not treated, if she was in this shape when she arrived at the hospital why did the home not contact the family to let them know she was ill, and how does she go from fine to having pneumonia and flu within two days.

I had the worst most disgusting experience here taking my cna skill set test. I drove over 2 hours wasted time & money on December 3, 2024 @ 9am to be made to feel uncomfortable & unwanted by a NASTY lady with a short blunt cut & glasses ( didn't even introduce herself) it was weird & had racist energy. Dont go to this location at all! This was a nightmare first experience. After working at some of the most highly skilled facilities this is still one of the wildest experiences I ever had, I walked out mid test.
If you love anyone in your family this isnt the place to send them to. They will leave there patience to sit there and basically die. when asked to get a patient something thats been empty for 2 days and saying yeah when im done these other things. along with letting a patient sit there with the flu and pneumonia for over 2 weeks to then end up with a collapsed lung. they fail to ever notify the family of anything going on or the patient being transferred to the hospital. this place is absolutely disgusting and hopefully one day will be shut down. I bet that half of the nurses and caregivers wouldnt treat there family that way so why treat others that way. people send there family to these places in look for help and care being given. not for your family to die because they fail to be clean and properly take care of a patient.
My mother was transferred to Hanover Hall from York hospital after we were told at noon she had to leave by 2:30 July 18. We chose Hanover Hall after a few minutes of research and pressure. I was with her Friday July 19 and the nurse was caring and wonderful. Saturday morning I tried calling my mom, no answer. I figured she was busy with something. I tried again a couple hours later, nothing. I finally called the nurses station around 4pm and spoke with the “supervisor” who said she had been asleep until 2:30pm. My mom has diabetes, had a recent bout of ketoacidosis, and had been sick with pneumonia. I asked the nurse to check on her and please call back and she said she would. I finally called my mom again and she answered. She could barely speak and said she had been asleep, no food, no drink, no insulin, nothing. We rushed up to her, from an hour away, never receiving a call from the nurse supervisor. We arrived to immediate attitude when we didn’t look at a sign to enter the correct number. We ran down to my mom’s room to find her almost unresponsive. The nurse ran down behind us already defensive. We calmly asked for information and got nothing but attitude and rude responses. She would not let us speak. I had to step out of the building to compose myself and let my wife stay in the room. We ended up back at the nurses station requesting her be taken to the hospital. We were told, “they won’t do anything for her that we can’t do”. They said, “they won’t even take her”. I replied with, “we will take her or call 911”. They called the doctor who said to call 911. In between this the nurse was yelling at me saying that I was yelling at her. She then began to explain their credentials and that she has a relative in care there. All this while wasting precious time. The medics arrived and were amazing. They quickly got her to the hospital where she was immediately taken back and found to have severe pneumonia, fluid filling her lung, she needed a blood transfusion (3 bags), had a UTI, needed oxygen, and likely would have died within another day of their care. Hanover Hall may be a good place for someone well enough to be there but the staff let ego get in the way of patient care. They could not give her what she needed and couldn’t see beyond her vitals to see that she was dying. We had nothing against the place or people but instead of having to hear about how capable they are they should have put that energy to listening to the people who know her best and know that she was not well. Everyone else we came in contact with, the EMTs, and the hospital staff, all listened, showed compassion and empathy. As someone who quickly looked online for reviews, I hope someone reads this and thinks twice about sending your loved one to Hanover Hall.
Do not work here. Hr is very rude and thinks taking her calls is more important than your children
