If you are looking for a place for your loved one look far away from this place. Management is cruel and unreasonable. While our Grandmother was actively dying Reggie set times when family had to leave the building. She has no medical knowledge or degrees to make the decision she makes. Compassion for dying patients and their loved ones is not something that the manager possesses. As a family we were grieving and the last thing we should have needed to worry about was if and when the staff (Lydia or Reggie) were going to come down to the room and ask us to leave. I advocated for Grandma on several occasions asking for care that should have been given automatically and was labeled a troublemaker and told my visiting rights would be restricted. I continued to request things like staples being removed on the day they were supposed to come out and prn morphine for when Grandma was struggling to breath. Instead of contacting hospice for clarification on prn meds Lydia came down and yelled at me stating she could not have any more medication because it was scheduled for every 4 hours. I called hospice, not the staff, and was able to get grandma the medication after an hour of struggling to breath and panicking. My grandma did not dye alone I was not leaving her there without anyone to care for her. She was an amazing woman and deserved to die with dignity and respect. The lack of kindness and empathy from management was astounding to myself my family and members of Lenawee Hospice. If you have a love one and need an assisted living facility please do not place them here. You will be promised many things that this facility will not deliver.
