After the death of my father, my Mum was fortunate enough to move to Group Homes in Rose Bay. A beautiful environment under the care of an amazing team of wonderful, loving home makers. Mum was happy there and the freedom for the family to come and go and be part of the daily life at the home made such a difference to the quality of Mum's life and the time we got to spend with her. The way Group Homes welcomed Mum home from hospital for her last days was the most compassionate act of kindness and we will be forever grateful. I would highly recommend Group Homes to anyone looking for the very best aged care available.

I was despondent looking for dementia care for my mother when exclusively consulting the government website. When visiting facilities, I was sad and angry to find that the dementia residents were always stuck in the dark spaces, the neglected areas, the seemingly unloved holes in the nursing homes. At one place the bond was 250,000 less for those suffering dementia. When I inquired why, I was shocked at the answer: "Well, there's not much we can do for them". Not listed in the government website, I fortuitously came across Group Home. Specially designed for those with dementia and high needs, it was a welcome discovery. Bright, airy, and comfortable, it could have be mistaken for a normal, lovely home. With multiple generous living spaces and two outdoor areas, the residents are free to wander and settle where they want with the security of the staff's watchful eyes. The staff are beautiful in heart as well as trained to make the residents lives purposeful and happy. Although as a loving daughter, my mother's dementia was a an emotional challenge, Group Homes more often than not became my happy place - a place I was able to enjoy my mother and develop warm relationships with the staff and other families. Sadly, my mother succumbed to the disease, but in her final week she was treated with extra attentiveness, respect and love, as were myself and my brother. If I believed in angels I would say Group Homes was the angel sent to us in our toughest time. Thank you Group Homes.
My mum has Alzheimers and I needed to get her into respite, I was not disappointed with GHA Vaucluse. From the moment mum entered to the moment she left she was treated as part of the family. She went on bus trips nearly everyday, assisted with cooking, joined in all the activities but her favourite was the music afternoons where she showed off her dancing and piano skills. Daily photos to the family were evidence mum was very well cared for. Mum has returned home happy and healthy, I can't wait for mum to return and meet up with her new friends again. Thank you GHA from all the heart!
Very nice caring home
