140 Bruce Hwy Eastern Service Rd, Burpengary East QLD 4505, Australia
Green Wattle Sanctuary is A designated village for people over age 50. This is an "over 50's mobile home park". The houses are owned, the site is leased. In Australia OVER 50's VILLAGES have regulations set by the Australian Government to protect some interests of the house and company owners. This is a major difference from retirement villages. Green Wattle Sanctuary is a beautifully laid out place in well kept gardens and lawns. As owners of the dwellings, not the land, residents have many very nice, different houses. They are quite free to decorate and detail their houses to suit their tastes. The Sanctuary has a beautiful swimming pool, tennis court and shared recreational hall. That is used for functions, meetings, private group activities, games and more. On a Friday night residents can choose to have a community dinner in the hall for just $5. The roads in Sanctary are very good indeed and have a 10km speed limit. They are shared pedestrian, vehicle. As the area is by a small national park (koala sanctuary) there is an abundant bird life in and around GWS. It's quite evident and very nice. Crows, Magpies, Kookaburras ocassionally, Parrots, Doves, and many more. There's a good number of trees, shrubs and flowers to support them too. Buses that circle a wide area are pretty much at the gates. Shopping centre in Burpengary is only 3 mins by car. Coles, Aldi,Kmart, Chemists, Doctors, Hairdressers, Mechanics and all you would hope for in a med/lge center.
