Like my kitchenette room. Pretty view of forest preserve. Deer come out when you least exp3ß There seems to be a presence of tenants who have dementia here. Administration should work on providing extra care and resources to assist this special group.
I visited Victory Centre in Calumet City one Saturday morning and was greeted by Mrs. LaTasha Watts. She was welcoming, smiling and very courteous. She invited my family on a tour of the facility. The music was relaxing the atmosphere was joyous. The residents seemed to be happy & enjoying themselves. The amenities offered are what impressed me most. I really like that residents had the option to doll themselves up at the hair salon, reserve a manicure if they’d like and even the bbq on the weekends was awesome. Mrs. Watts made my family member feel welcome and made her feel like entering this facility would be a great move. She literally walked me through all the steps necessary to get my grandmother entered into the facility in less than 30 days. Any and ever question I had, Mrs. Watts was very knowledge and answered my inquires. I’m thankful to have met Mrs. Watts and would encourage any other families who have a need for senior housing to visit Victory Centre in Calumet City. The housing is very clean, the staff are very professional and pleasant and I felt very comfortable leaving my loved one in their care.

There is NO Nurse in the facility after 5 pm, nor anyone with critical thinking skills, so your loved one is likely to end up in the hospital for even a minor issue. Which is the WORST place for a compromised elder to be as a hospital acquired infection is more likely to result in a poor outcome. The medical incompetence is Next Level. Just ask what medications are being given to your loved one and why ... you'll see. And if your loved ones' Blood Pressure needs to be checked BEFORE blood pressure lowering meds are given ... I hope you have better luck. My Mom died.
