My husband and I moved here a few years ago as we wanted to simplify life and downsize. He was 57 and I was 52 (so quite young compared to others here). Coming here has meant my husband could retire earlier than we thought as we don’t have a mortgage to worry about. We have a lovely home and all our neighbours are wonderful, cheerful, caring and thoughtful. You decide on how involved you want to be in activities and events I.e. you can keep to yourself if you want to but you can also join in as much as you like. We have 2 beautiful pools, tennis courts, a basic gym, bowls green and community centre. Shops, train stations and buses are super close and the highways to get to the Sunny and Gold coasts too. About 30mins from the city and 10 mins from beautiful beaches and water at Sandgate and Shorncliffe. It’s quiet, peaceful and very well kept by the homeowners and management. We love it here and would recommend it as an extreme affordable place to have a quiet ‘over 50’s’ life! (Some pics of our partially renovated cottage)

My mum lives here... She 'owns' her house but still has to pay equilivant rent just for the 'lifestyle'. This seems to me to be pool maintenence, the odd social night in the community centre where they have to still fork out $$ for food/extras. Right next to the train tracks too- effects phone reception. And the rules! There are so many! They literally dictate what you can / cant do and if someone steps one foot out of line a third of the entire park know about it and pick sides. Why cant they just be happy and kind.
It's lovely. Clean and efficient. Swimming pool x2 , clubhouse, hairdresser, bowls, game room. Easy ingress and egress thu boomgates.
