Many many years ago, my mother was a resident at Garden Courte until she fell, broke her hip and had to go to a convalescent center. While at Garden Courte, she received outstanding compassionate care from all the staff. In May 2024, my wife and I were informed of Garden Courte's still stellar reputation when it became necessary to move a family member to a memory care facility. We toured the facility and were very impressed with the friendliness of the many staff we met as well as the cleanliness and organization of the pleasant surroundings. Over numerous months now, we have come to know many of the staff on a first name basis. They are all competent, helpful and caring of our loved one. We have watched my wife's sister literally bloom with all her involvement in the many activities provided. The food is nutritious, tastes good and is contributing to a healthy and needed weight gain. if you are considering a memory care facility for a loved one, we highly recommend Garden Courte Memory Care. I'm a frequent visitor to Garden Courte's memory care facility. I'm impressed with the quality of the staff and with how efficiently and compassionately they carry out their care responsibilities. The activities program there is a class act.
I am incredibly grateful to Eldercare Consulting and Guidance Services (based in Olympia) for assessing my mother, meeting with our family, and allowing Mom to choose Garden Courte as her “last home.” She was happy to be able to bring her bedroom furnishings when she moved into the North Side over a year ago. She loved joining the many activities, concerts, movies, and celebrations each day. When she eventually required a higher level of care, she relocated to the South Side. It means the world to see how well she is being cared for by some of the kindest, most committed caregivers I have ever encountered. The tears I have shed since my mother moved to Garden Courte have been the kind that surface when your heart is full of love and gratitude. Thanks to everyone at GCMC. It takes a village and I’m thankful for each and every one of you.
My Dad was a resident at Garden Courte. Our family researched area memory care offerings extensively. What I appreciated most about Garden Courte is the effort made to create a warm and homey environment for residents, filled with daily events and social engagement activities. Social engagement is incredibly important for someone suffering from memory loss. It can represent the difference between feeling like your loved one has been placed in a sterile and detached nursing home style of facility, or something closer to like being at home. Visit Garden Courte, and you will see what I mean. It's warm, and inviting, and engaged. The gradual loss of a loved one to dementia is a cruel, painful, heart wrenching, and emotion-charged time for a family. No memory care facility is going to feel "perfect" during such a difficult time. Every resident's needs are unique and constantly shifting, and everyone is human and doing their best. There are going to be good and bad days. The staff at Garden Courte were special, and I will forever be grateful for the care and compassion we experienced there.
After touring and interviewing several memory care facilities, we chose this one for our loved one. Due to some extenuating medical circumstances, they were able to move her in immediately. As for staff, the long tenures speak volumes. Director Dawn goes above and beyond to answer any questions and provide resources. Nurses Sandi and Kathy are amazing (knowledgeable and compassionate), and so are all the staff I've met, too many people to name. I know my loved one is well taken care of. I highly recommend Garden Courte if you need a memory care facility for your own loved one.
