We have had my aunt in the Franklin Grove Living and Rehab Center twice, with this 2nd time looking at long term. The care and administration teams have been so good with her and advocating for her. My aunt is happy staying there, which says a lot because she was not sure about moving into a long term care facility. It has reduced my families stress knowing that she is being well taken care of.

I received excellent care during my stay at Franklin Grove 4/12 thru 4/30. Had PT OT five days a week! The entire PT staff that I dealt with: Chelsey, Kristina and Bill were terrific! Nurse Madison took time out to console me when I was first came in. Shyanne was the first CNA that came to introduce herself and told me she was going to do her best to take care of me. And take care of me she did!! I can’t remember all my CNA’s but Emma, Julia, Monica, and Teeya were great to me! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Franklin Grove PT/OT to anyone!
My uncle had great care here. The staff was very accommodating and available for his needs. The social worker was helpful when we had questions and followed up with the doctor for us when needed. I would recommend this facility, as he got better care here than he did at the local hospital he was in before being transferred here.
This is a while overdue, but I figure I should put this out here so maybe I can help even just one person consider choosing a different facility to care for their loved ones. A long time ago this facility was known to have a good reputation for being a great place to receive care. I think a lot of people, my family included, were under this impression still. My aunt went here for what was supposed to be one month of physical therapy. During this time she was verbally abused by a cna, for which that cna was then suspended only 5 days because she was caught verbally abusing my aunt by another staff member who reported it. My aunt was also prescribed harsh psych meds only days into her stay that she had NEVER needed prior to being here. They insisted she had dementia, but had never been diagnosed with such. What really was the worst of it all, and the situation that ultimately ended her life, was that my aunt was in visible respiratory distress--the CNAs STILL transferred her into her wheelchair and brought her to the dining room as she slumped over with extremely rapid and shallow breaths. She was DYING sitting in that dining room. They didn't alert anyone until we asked them to, because I truly do not think they slowed down enough to notice a change in condition even though it was so obvious. We had one alert the LPN of this situation, and when she finally came over, she brought her some COUGH SYRUP and did not do any further assessments. My aunt NEEDED immediate emergency care, and we were blown off. The next morning my aunt was sent to the hospital by another nurse, i guess that one had some brains. The damage to her body was done due to sustaining respiratory distress and an acidotic condition for so long while being in old age. Not only did the LPN ignore her while in respiratory failure, but the entire nursing staff failed to pick up on the signs that my aunt had pneumonia before all of this happened. She was put on hospice after this ordeal and passed away days later. It could have likely all been avoided if good nursing care would have been given, but the facility did not provide this. It needs an entire overhaul, and to be quite honest the entire staff needs to be drug tested, because there are known hard drug users working at this facility, and maybe that is why the standard of care is so poor. Read the other reviews here-others mention somewhat similar experiences. Don't let this happen to your loved ones.
If you are considering Franklin Grove, let me tell you about my experience. My grandfather was here for over a month. And while he was there, they threatened him to not give him pills. They were very rough with him. So when we finally got him home, he was all bruised up-and-down his sides. They didn't Care to take care of my grandfather and they were only there for a paycheck. I think that there was only one nurse that actually truly cared to take care of him. I wouldn't recommend them even to my worst enemy. And if you truly love your loved one, then do not send them here.
