My mom was one of 4 residents at the time. We picked Fox Trail because we expected an unmatched level of personalized care and attention for the exorbitant amount of money being paid. "It's four residents this great!"....It was instead a nightmare. Mom, a Picks Disease patient was left to her own devices after week three. She, unchecked, not watched or cared for, exited the rear of the facility at the sliding glass doors. Still going unnoticed, she proceeded to exit from an employee gate/ garbage fence that remains left wide open, even now, and found herself on the main road, midwinter, with no coat or shoes. In just a hospital gown, she fell over a crack in the sidewalk, several houses away from the facility, landing face and hands first. Spotted several minutes/ hours, later - Nobody can tell me (even the report) exactly when or how or the length of time, she was absent... She was found only by a local resident who noticed her struggling and cold. The facility took no fault or responsibility, detailing no wrong doing or incompetence, despite being completely under their care, again they were unaware she'd even left. I was mortified after receiving the call and after doing some personal investigative work...I surmise, their records are terrible and their accountability is zero. In the following week we had our mom transfered out. I wasn't going to risk losing her to an overpriced facilities negligible behaviors...One scare was enough. Months later we received a bill for $13,000 from Fox Trail. I was floored by the audacity. If you care at all about your loved one, find another facility. This place is a nightmare that is only painted to seem "too good". I assure you they are not. ***Here's a follow up... Nobody gave a damn when my mom went missing or got hurt, and/ or when we transfered her out. They didn't care about the biweekly harassing letters demanding payment that followed, BUT if you leave a bad review, you get a phone call three weeks later... I've outlined what happened here. There's nothing left that can be done. No rectifying the wrong doing, no amount of consoling words that could be said and especially zero apologies you could propose that would warrant a call back. Just do better, not for your visiting public or your front facing website viewers, but for the patients you're supposed to be caring for. Had I been smarter, sooner, you'd already be in litigation.
