I wouldn’t recommend placing your loved one in their care. My grandmother was in their care for about a year and a half until her death. Staff was extremely inconsistent - during that year and a half, there were three different managers and I know that after my grandmother left, the third one was fired. My grandmother had dementia and would lock herself in her room, no one would check on her, she had multiple falls that landed her in the hospital. There were less than 10 residents at the time and the caretakers there simply did not provide adequate care. Many times when I visited, they were either on their phones or were sitting on the couch sleeping. Do not place your loved one in their care!!!

When we were placing our father John, needless to say it was a very hard thing to do. Perhaps up to this point, the hardest thing we had to do ever. We searched the internet for facilities in the area. A dear friend of the family who by chance currently has her own parents residing at Fox Trail mentioned how wonderful they are being taken care of and highly recommended that we seriously consider Fox Trail. After visiting Fox Trail at Park Ridge, we were extremely satisfied of the facility, it’s personnel and surroundings. We weren’t sure exactly how dad would react be that positive or negative... When we approached the door, we were meet with this warm and inviting greetings. We knew at this point forward, it was a sign (no pun intended) things will work out. Our fears and trepidation's were immediately put at ease. The transition went smoothly. During my father’s “brief” six month stay at Fox Trail at Park Ridge, prior to Covid and subsequent lockdown at Fox Trail at Park Ridge, I was able to visit Fox Trail fairly often due to living in close proximity of the facility. The entire staff was always professional and treated my father as well as other residents with the utmost respect, dignity and care. We all grew close not only as clients, we all became friends but bonded which turned into a extended “family”. During the Thanksgiving & Christmas holidays stand out the most. The atmosphere was pure joyful! We all became one! I have nothing but the utmost respect for everyone who oversees the day to day care of the residents at Fox Trail. Everyone is extremely caring professional and understanding for each resident’s individual personal needs. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about my father’s stay at Fox Trail. The entire house is extremely clean. Each resident’s has their own furnished private clean room with windows. From my observations, each resident’s personal needs are well taken care of. Tia, the Activities Director is a tireless person and a welcome breath of fresh air! Tia puts her heart and soul into her job. She makes sure no one is left out and makes it a point for each resident participates in that day’s activity. Janis, the House Manager is the best. She is easy to talk to, kind and very personable. Janis is also extremely understanding and is always available if you ever have an issue The night orderly and facility nurse were awesome. Both always at the ready whenever needed. The cook made some mighty fine well balanced and delicious dishes which benefited my father due to the fact he was somewhat under weight when he arrived and during the six months, he actually was able to put on much needed eight pounds to his already frail body. I highly recommend Fox Trail at Park Ridge for the above mentioned points. The over all cost to stay at Fox Trail at Park Ridge is far below the costs of other facilities in the area and is well worth it. My father also benefitted from the low number of residents at Fox Trail. He was able to interact much easier with the other residents since he is rather shy.
During my mom's time at the Park Ridge location of Memory Care Living, she received superior care from Janis and her team of caregivers. They asked us many questions about my mom and her past, likes, dislikes, etc. so that they could have conversations with her that were relevant to things she could remember and relate to. When her health started to turn, Janis communicated with us often and helped us with all of the things we needed to know about the hospital transports and eventually working with hospice. It was a very difficult time for our family and we couldn't have gotten through it without the support from Janis and everyone in Park Ridge.
For the most part, Foxtrail at Park Ridge is very good. On some things they are a bit rigid. For instance....our mother needs to have her food pureed at times and we must supply a thickener that is used to do this. For the money we pay monthly and the few residence the staff has to take care of this kids of need for a resident should be supplied as an every day item. Janis, the house manager is extremely accommodating and communicative, which is vital for family members. We appreciate this very much. The inside or outside visits and the time allowed on certain days for these should be extended. Most people work and can visit before 4:30 during the week. There should be more hours to visit. Our mother was moved to Park Ridge at the beginning of Covid-19 and we have yet to see her room from inside or the bathroom facilities etc. We are a bit in the dark and would like to be able to see the set up and the housekeeping of the house. Thank you very much. The Anderson's
The care my mother received while she was living at Fox Trail was very good. The staff was attentive, pleasant to interact with and showed a genuine care for the residents. If you are in a situation and need to secure care for your loved one, i would recommend you check out Fox Trail.
