As a vendor with Envoy America, it’s been a privilege to work with Forest Hills of DC Senior Living, providing transportation services for their residents since July 2024. Over this time, I’ve had the unique opportunity to witness firsthand the deep commitment this community has to its residents. Forest Hills is truly one of a kind, and I’m honored to be a part of it. What stands out most to me about Forest Hills is not just the remarkable level of care, but the personal touch each staff member brings to their role. The staff knows each resident by name – but more importantly, they take the time to understand their individual needs, preferences, and stories. This isn’t just a place where people live; it’s a place where people belong. It's clear to me that Forest Hills fosters a deep sense of connection and family, and it truly feels like a home, not just for the residents, but for the entire staff as well. What is truly remarkable is the intergenerational nature of the community. I see a place where children and grandchildren often work side by side with their parents or grandparents, helping to care for the seniors in their lives. It’s not just a job for them—it’s a shared mission. This familial atmosphere makes Forest Hills feel less like a traditional senior living community and more like an extension of a larger family. The residents here are seen for who they truly are—not just as seniors, but as individuals with histories, experiences, and desires to continue living life fully. Whether a resident has lived in the area for decades or moved here to be closer to loved ones, the staff and community work tirelessly to support them in maintaining their independence and enjoying a fulfilling life. I’ve seen residents who feel truly at home here, surrounded by people who care deeply about them. Forest Hills’ mission is to “continually grow as a supportive community that inspires and engages seniors and their caregivers.” This isn’t just a mission statement—it’s a guiding principle that is evident in everything they do, day in and day out. I see this commitment in the way they approach every aspect of life at the community, from the personalized care to the thoughtful activities that keep residents engaged and empowered. It’s a place where care, compassion, and genuine relationships create a supportive and vibrant environment for seniors. It’s more than just a service; it’s a way of life. I so appreciate working alongside this outstanding team and being a small part of the wonderful work they do.

While there are some nice things about this facility such as gardens, food, and activities the nursing staff and aides leave much room for improvement. My mother was there for rehab and while she did receive rehab, there were days when she had to wait hours to receive help with wet pullups ( sometimes as much as 4 hours ) and problems getting basic ADL's completed. This is terrible for the person recovering to feel you are alone in a place designed to assist you. A much more egregious error took place here as well and attempts to file a complaint have certainly not been made easy. The licensing person listed on the wall who you can contact to file a report is deceased.I know no place is perfect and I was there as much as possible several times a week but this place needs to hire more compassionate staff and more competent ones.
My mother rehabilitated here after total hip replacement and I have nothing but gratitude and respect for the excellent care she received. The skilled nursing staff was professional and caring, the social and cultural activities were of a very high quality, the food was delicious and nutritious and the onsite a Physical and Occupational therapy facility was so convenient and expertly staffed. Thanks to everyone at Forest Hills for providing a real home to the residents and short termers as well.
Staff is attentive and concerned for the patients well being.
