My mother Margaret Hilsabeck was at Fallbrook for approximately one year, 01/22 until 01/23. I stopped by today to thank the staff. Patrick, don’t know the last name, was one of mom’s primary caregivers. Great guy. Wanted to thank him for caring for mom while she was there. She’s been at Southlake nursing care since. Came back to the mainland for her 99th Birthday on March 3rd. Mahalos Patrick🤙.

I am so grateful that my sisters and I chose Fallbrook for my mother’s care. Trusting a loved one into the care of a facility is a difficult process. But we found the care providers and staff to be professional, attentive, and caring. And our family felt heard and supported. My mother passed at Fallbrook with her daughters at her side and her caregivers nearby. The staff at Fallbrook will be fondly remembered for their expertise and the tender care they gave my mother those last and precious days of her life.
Our family decided on placing our loved one at Fallbrook Assisted Living in 2021. It’s been one of the decisions our family deeply regretted making. The staff seemed friendly and helpful at first with our loved one’s care, but that changed very quickly within 3 months of being there. The staff has constant turnaround there and can’t seem to keep good employees hired for very long; administrative staff, caregiving staff and housekeeping staff. Families of residents there can observe and tell the instability to retain good staff is a very unsettling situation for both residents and staff. It’s pretty bad when family members of residents there are also constantly hearing staff talking in the hallways and on the grounds of the facility how they are overworked and always having to pull many more shifts than they should be; and, that there are no incentives from upper management whatsoever for staff to feel appreciated and retain their employment. Family and visitors of residents also find out very quickly that the licensed nursing staff is inadequate. Our family’s loved one fell and wasn’t assessed by a licensed nurse until three days later. The in-house training for caregivers there is laughable, as a lot of them ignore what they are taught to do because they are not certified CNAs, and they do their caregiving haphazardly because the facility is constantly very short staffed. And, they have to rush through what they are supposed to help residents with as far as the residents’ activities of daily living (ADLs). The food at the facility is mediocre at best. Residents and their family members that have eaten there find that they have fancy names for food on their weekly menus to make it sound appealing, but in reality, there is usually a piece of a processed beef (?) patty several times a week just with different kinds of sauces poured over them. The grounds and buildings are kept up nicely. And, the furnishings and decor in the common areas look nice, but don’t be fooled by the outward appearance of this facade, as the caretaking of the residents is subpar, and that’s what residents move there for and end up not getting. Sad, but true.
Really nice assisted living care facility. The place was very clean and the food served to residents looked very good. Staff was helpful and friendly and knew the residents by name. We were taken directly to a guest room by staff when we walked in and told them who we were looking for.
Enjoyed a great holiday meal Fallbrook assisted living hosted for family members. Great food, friendly staff and santa gave us a candy cane!
