The staff in the dementia unit are wonderful caring women that keep things in smooth running order. They have helped my mother adjust to this new chapter in her life and they keep on top of things. The unit is kept clean and the laundry is always done. I am very thankful that I was able to find this place. And I am very grateful for the dementia units staff.

The facility manager Waysha W. F. Does not know what she is doing. Two med techs run the place rudely and unprofessional. They smile in your face but talk behind your back. Waysha has no control over these ladies even though she is supposed to be the one running the facility. Residents are forced to say how much they love it there. The residents are intimidated and treated with unkindly. When staff from other institutions come around everything seems to fall in place all of a sudden with hovering PCAs and Med Techs. When a staff member wants to speak up on the residents behalf or remotely show any concern for the residents (abuse) they silence them. For instance: termination if you show any sort of care or report abuse to Waysha
Update: So I have changed this reveiw tfrom 2 starts to 4 becuase this facility did strive to improve. There were many changes of managment which cause much confusion and issues with makeing sure my uncle had the care he required. He has a cognitive disability which made him difficult to work with some times however, Fairmont Grand did a good job of accomodating his needs and making him feel more at home. I do have to say this is a nice place and feels more like a home than most places. Old Review: This place is more than aggravating. My uncle lives here and they call me about medications when I was told all his meds had to go through their program. They wait until he is almost out when I can not do anything because I live out of state. We worked for 3 months to get his payment stuff straightened out. It took this long because you would be put on hold wait for an hour, get tired and hang up. I am sitting here on hold right now and listening to the message and it is a lie. They do not take them for walks and they have yet to take him on an outing. Some of the people are nice but overall there are more problems than it is worth. When he was being transferred to this place they insisted he needed another eval from his dr in town which had the same information from the dr that was at the other facility. The other facility’s dr saw him more often and knew more about what was going on that his primary. Then they needed a deposit and a voided check for direct withdraw. They did not tell me this and my checkbook was left at home out of state. Then, they did not tell me he needed stuff to furnish his shared room. The other facility was frustrated because if they had known this they would have got stuff together for him. I was told the day when he was supposed to move in so we had to push it back a day. In a shared room it is hard when everyone being their own stuff because his roommate takes up more space in the room. These are like dorm rooms but mine was bigger than these rooms. For how much is being paid it is not worth it. I am working hard to get my uncle moved out of this facility. I am also working with DSS and DHS because of all the problems. Save yourself the hassle and avoid this place at all costs. Concerned medical power of attorney and family member.
I love this place... the layout is four really nice cottages that have recently been upgraded and beautfully appointed. When my mom is ready I am bringing her here. The staff was caring, considerate, positive, supportive and kind to me and clearly the residents love them! Plus they were very reasonable on their pricing which is obviously always a plus!
Extremely rude staff in the memory care when I visited. Very unprofessional. The blonde younger gal needs a lesson on manners. Hopefully the attitudes don’t carry over to how they care for the residents.
