I wanna leave a little comment and a little insight on an episode i saw once. I went to visit a family member but once i entered I saw an employee, i believe her name was Chelsea. I witnessed her yelling and saw the employee cry. I felt so bad for her. I didnt know what to do. My family member asked me to mention this because she has seen this happen more than once. I cant believe in a place where the employees are supposed to show compassion and love are making people cry. I wonder what happeneds to my family or others when im not around. I shall keep an eye on this cause thats not ok. Maybe its just Chelsea or maybe not. Maybe its just the staff that is reflecting of the atmosphere. If this keeps happening i shall be moving my family out if this home.

Of course no one wants to have to be in a nursing home or put their loved ones there, but when it is a "must", we have found Fair Acres to have some very kind people to deal with and excellent care. When they see a need, they just step up and fill it instead of saying they will tell someone to fix it. They are very pro-active. It is almost always smelling very clean, has many smiles and welcoming comments from the staff, has a good plenteous staff, and good food from all we see and hear. They offer many options for residents with picky palates. We also find it so refreshing that they have refrigerators and little snack stations for both visitors and residents alike. The bird room is also quite welcoming and refreshing to watch the birds playing about. We have been there daily for about a month now, and there is consistency with the staff and care. Of course, some are more effusive and fun staff than others, but you will find that anywhere! When you get the likes of Jillian, Marco, and Josephine, you know you are in a great place!
We moved my Mother to Fairacres about 4 months ago after living in another local facility for three years. In the first two weeks, my Mom spent more time out of her room than the whole time she lived at the other facility. I can't say enough about Fairacres. It is more of a homelike facility and all of the staff are amazing. They have many activities throughout the days and everyone is very caring.
Zero stars.. If you truly care, and have the heart to work in healthcare, stay FAR AWAY from this facility! In the few months I was employed at Fairacres, there were many state violations, involving resident safety and dignity, and management seemed to want to sweep them under the rug. This facility boasts that they implement the "Eden Method" of care, which means it is person-centered to each individual. This is definitely not the case in this building, even if residents do not want to wake up early, they are made to, and usually put back to bed right after meals. If a CNA tries to uphold a resident's wishes, they are told to what the nurse says, regardless of what the resident wants, and are reprimanded if they don't. Employees are not all treated equally. Many are getting away with providing mediocre, and dangerous care for the residents, while the ones who truly care are being nitpicked over small issues such as being late or using the restroom without direct permission. Some are allowed to be up to half an hour late everyday, while another gets written up (and fired) for being 5-10mins late a few times within a month, even after communicating the unforeseen circumstances and notifying the other staff of tardiness. So, to sum it all up, if you are a good person and have a heart, stay away from Fairacres Manor
My dad was there after he was in the hospital. They told him, my sister and I that they would help him with insurance so that way he won’t get a bill. He got a bill for $2000+ and the “advocate” was so once rude towards me when I called (y'all really need to evaluate her). The lady in billing was great even though she can’t do anything about it.
