Our Mother spent about 3 weeks there in March 2025. It is actually a very good facility. The professionals (doctors, nurses and PT staff) were excellent. The support staff, for the most part, were pretty good. Food could use a bit of an upgrade but was serviceable. Would definitely refer others to ExcelCare.

My father has been a resident in the Lancaster Wing (memory care unit) at ExcelCare at Wilmington (formerly Parkview) for almost two years. Dr. Ying Zhu leads the medical team in their work of providing high-quality care to the residents and patients, and Juanita Brunson, the administrator, ensures the facility runs smoothly and does so with grace and good humor. From the moment you call ExcelCare and speak with Mikaela, Adrieanna, Quasimah, Miguel, or Sierra, you receive a warm welcome. Desaray Morgan in Admissions makes you feel valued and confident that your loved one will receive the medical care and personal attention that they need to thrive and feel safe. The care providers and staff offer my father top-notch medical care and love, making him feel that ExcelCare at Wilmington is truly his home. The care team and staff are always patient and kind when interacting with dad and the other residents, and they are also very responsive to my questions. Many of the staff have been working at ExcelCare of Wilmington (formerly Parkview) for over two or three decades. Angie, the Lancaster Wing unit head, is amazing and is the hub of the Lancaster Wing. She ensures that all the Lancaster residents' needs are met with great love, professionalism, and attention to detail – nothing is too great or too small. Saybah Tenny, Lee Page, and Tifanny Dineen, who work in the Social Services Dept., and Frank, Kwasi, ShanaKay, Kay, Inisha, Faith, Shamelle, Patty, Carol, Sabria, Claire, Kristian, Theresa, Jaiyere, LaKenya, Bria, and Haewon provide my father with exceptional care. I truly feel as if they love my father, and they are indeed his other family. Theresa, who also works in activities, always has a bright smile and arranges special events for the residents that make their day. James, who runs the Men's Club and organizes fun activities for the men of the Lancaster Wing, is very kind and patient. The activities that Theresa and James organize provide important social outlets and mental stimulation for the residents. Pam Graham in Patient Billing is thoughtful, organized, and very responsive. And Norman, who is the Head of Facilities, is always happy to help with a family's requests and does so with efficiency and creativity. My family and I feel very fortunate that dad is in such wonderful hands. I highly recommend ExcelCare at Wilmington for those who require the best in nursing care and rehabilitative services.
No one ever answers the phone. The nurses are never available. No one ever returns calls. How are people supposed to know what's going on with their loved ones?
Its like sending your loved one to an underfunded public school. I cry every time I put my self in my dads shoes. Its not an easy peaceful place to die. Dont send your family here, you can take MUCH better care of them at home :(
Preparing my parents future had mentally drained me. I couldn't just drop them off at the Boysclub. Thankful to have had help from knowledgeable staff. The social worker was so friendly, almost treating me like family. We went to the cafeteria and played bingo with some residence. Still unsure, that's when I met Tiffany. She was my game changer. She explained the HIPA privacy acts to me, and put me at ease with the whole guilt of putting my parents in a home so early. So I give Parkview 5 stars, and Tiffany you always a ten in my book.
