I am a Luther Crest resident. Shortly after my wife and I moved here, she was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. I was able to care for her in our cottage for more than five years, but her condition worsened to the point where she needed to move to the nursing home (called the Health Care Center here). She lived there for over three years before she passed away last fall. I spent many hours with her every day and was able to observe the workings of the nursing home. It was comforting to me to see how well my wife was taken care of. The nurses and aides were compassionate and efficient. Her room and bathroom were kept spotlessly clean. When I came in the morning, she was always washed, dressed, and well groomed. She liked the food, often saying how good a meal was. Until she became severely disabled, she took part in some of the many activities available. We went to musical performances together. She participated in arts and crafts projects. I will always be grateful for the care my wife received at Luther Crest in her last years.

After working in the LTC/Post-Acute care industry for nearly 30 years, I can say that the time I have been at Luther Crest as the Director of Nursing has been the most rewarding time of my career. This comes from seeing that the staff, all the staff, truly care about what’s most important- the residents and patients we serve. I am proud to say I work at Luther Crest and proud of the work that the staff do every day.
I will start with we picked this place because of location. My mom had a fall at the end of April and because of numerous kidney issues moved in and out of hospital and short term rehabs. 2 times at Phoebe she did fantastic, but she did not want to go back there. She arrived at Luther Crest and for a week and a half I had no communication with social worker or rehab....I was there, my brother was there, but saw no one. I had to go to nurses station and ask what was going on, why have I had no update and I was sent to social worker in next room. Finally I get a visit along with speech therapist, oh, by the way we want to inform you that in 2 days medicare runs out......no progress made. WTF....quick to let me known that it will be 600 per day after that. I won't go on, but there is more, and every bit of communication from this point on keeps stressing the 600 per day. This place was a disaster, it is all about $$$$$
We recently toured Luther Crest nursing home and assisted living. The place was pristine with very friendly staff. The amenities were state of the art including the pool and a great gym. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly and was able to answer all of our questions. All the residence looked so well taken care of which gave us peace of mind for our loved one. I cannot recommend this place enough. A++
I normally do not take the time to post a review, but I believe in this case it is warranted. My great aunt resides at Luther Crest nursing home, and I have never seen her happier. She is honestly thriving. I believe the center has a new nursing director and an administrator and we are seeing a huge difference in operations and well being of our loved one. I could not say better things and just very happy we chose this facility for my aunt. Thank you all for your hard work.
