This assisted living home is amazing! Clean, no odor, and the staff are all so kind and caring, including the administrator who pitches in to help wherever & whenever she is needed. In this first year my mother has lived there I’ve not encountered one person who has not gone the extra mile to assist with any request she or we ( her family) have had. If there are any shortcomings, it is that the food is not the greatest. It’s very inconsistent (same item on menu will be completely different each time it’s prepared) and there are MANY resident who are unhappy with their meals. There is a food committee that meets monthly (?) and residents are asked for their input but nothing ever changes with the suggestions they offer so attending these meetings seems pointless and therefore a source of frustration for the residents AND their families. When the residents of a facility are elderly and need nourishing meals, it seems intuitive that the meals be foods that they enjoy so they will eat well. Collecting recipes from the residents & their family members would be a way to accomplish this. It’s not difficult to multiply a recipe to feed the number of residents in both the assisted living and nursing home there. We have voiced our concerns this past year so I’m hoping that this review might make its way to the new owners of Buffalo Valley and help them realize they need to sit up and pay attention to their food service.

This place is TERRIBLE! I suggest you do not leave your relatives here! They treat everyone including staff like garbage. And they are absolutely disgusting and so unprofessional. They stand there and chit chat while the residents need help or are ringing their bells.. Staff are rude and always have an attitude.
My mom was there recently for rehab for a hip fracture. We were so very happy we were able to have her admitted to this facility. She has been home for two weeks and is doing very well. Thank you so very much for the kindness, professionalism, and caring given to her from everyone! The only little glitch was that my mom lost one of her hearing aids, but was not able to receive any reimbursement. But nevertheless, I give five stars! Thank you!
I can not say enough good things about the dedication and compassion of the people who work in the personal care and nursing areas of Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village. Nurses, nursing assistants, therapists, activities director, administration, reception, dining and custodial staff all go the extra mile to provide the best care they can for the residents and their families. Everyone is adept at what they do, and so thoughtful and kind.
When I was at buffalo valley for rehab due to broken hip and pelvic bones I had an amazing experience. Staff was awesome and couldn't ask for better. Id recommend to anyone who needs help.
