I have found Evergreen Nursing to be quite the place. Brittany, the activity director, has greeted us with open arms. We are BDM a ladies ministry of First Baptist Church in East Providence. We are looking forward to more opportunities to minister to the Residents.
Recently, my father went to Evergreen for hospice care and was taken care of very well. The place is clean, well-staffed and the nurses were very attentive and responsive. My dad said the food was good and. though he was unable to attend, I noticed how many activities there were for its residents. It is a good place for family rehabilitation.
My mom is well cared for and the nurses and CNAs are very attentive to her needs. They have activities to keep her engaged and see to it that she participates and gets out of her room. My only dissatisfaction is with the time it takes for the residents to get their meals and the temperature of the food when they do. My mom has often said she doesn’t eat because it’s cold. Although if she asks, the staff would heat it up. I would suggest they have more hands on deck in disbursing and or prioritize those that consume the food independently first. Also, think about what you are serving. These are elderly persons who can’t open salad dressing packets or condiment packages and if you serve water, loosen the cap. Again, it’s the attention to the little things that are big things in their world. They don’t ask for much, only comfort in what they can do for themselves. Overall my mom is very happy here and I would highly recommend.
Ten years ago my dad spent time at Evergreen. Now my mom needs a few weeks of recovery at Evergreen. I have visited and spoke with mom. The staff appears to enjoy their jobs and it reflects on the care they provide. I think they do a great job.
