My mother spent 9 weeks in the Oostergouw of evean on the fourth floor (the trowel) and was perfectly helped and guided by the friendly and helpful staff, which allowed her to go home unexpectedly. There is a good atmosphere and the people are friendly. The rooms and toilets are also exceptionally clean compared to other rehabilitation homes. There is a garden where you can sit and the restaurant is open in the morning and afternoon where they help you well and friendly and where they have delicious fresh pastries. In short, only positive feedback for the staff of evean in the Oostergouw Zaandam and my gratitude is great for what they have done for my mother.

What a dramatic setting this is. Not a good word to say about it. The staff is just as demented as the patients. No empathy whatsoever for the patient. Mother is sent home when she cannot even get out of her chair normally. There is hardly any physio, and nothing has been arranged for home care either. Medicines are simply forgotten to be given. And then the arrogant attitude of the staff, it's absolutely sickening... Good luck to everyone there.
Four years ago my mother came to the Gorter department in Oostergouw. My review at the time is below the current one and was very positive. Unfortunately, the care in the department where my mother is now is much worse than in the beginning. The well-intentioned nurses have no time for anything (simply too few staff and too much work) and often speak poor Dutch. I call my mother every day and then I get a well-intentioned nurse on the line who just doesn't have the time to help my mother with her phone. The doctors are either in discussions or absent, in any case not available. The medical counter promises that we will be called back and then you will never hear anything again. Management apparently only sees the financial side of things. My mother likes to go outside every day and is then not helped to put on her coat or only after frequent asking, she is regularly only helped out of bed after 10 a.m., even though she indicates that she wants to get up earlier, she often sends the food back because it is cracking or tastes bad, etc. etc. In short, a nursing home that does not deserve the name at the moment. My mother no longer wants to move, but no longer sees a positive side to living in this institution. We live in France and unfortunately she doesn't want to go there. Unfortunately, care is expensive enough but not enough care and the inspectorate does not see enough complaints to intervene or check more frequently. My review from 4 years ago: My 98-year-old mother is currently staying in Oostergouw in the Gorter department and I am impressed by the love and care she receives, the cordial communication by telephone, when I call her every evening from France, the positive messages I hear from her. It was extremely difficult to leave my mother there and have to return to France, but the doctors and nurses made it a lot easier. Thanks to all of you! I wish you happy holidays and a healthier 2021. See you soon. Robert Vierbergen
Very committed staff for both patient and family De Gorter department Will never forget our time with you Kind regards, R de Wit
My mother has been staying in Oostergouw since December 2022. We 6 daughters are very satisfied. Good care and the involvement of nurses and volunteers. Many activities that my mother really enjoys participating in. Great, despite the crowds, they are always willing to explain things and answer our questions.
