Schloss Reichenberg 1, 64385 Reichelsheim (Odenwald), Germany
Although I lived in the region for 18 years and went to school there for 10 years, I have never been “up there”. The climb is rewarded with great views of the Odenwald and Reichelsheim. The tour as part of the Fairy Tales and Legends Days 2024 was very interesting and you could see what the community has created over the last ten years. A great gem.

Went there for a walk during the week, part of the castle including the chapel is freely accessible. Great views. Our highlight was the path from the parking lot along the allotment gardens to the castle and back across the fields: We saw many goats, some with bells on their necks, running freely, and some climbing small trees in their enclosure.
If you are planning a climb that involves a nice hike from Beerfurth, it is advisable to take advantage of the weekend when the café is open.
You should maintain your website better. It says that the coffee shop is open. Only when you get to the top is there a sign on the door that says it's closed. Very annoying for some guests who fell for the Internet entry. About 10 in the hour we were there alone. 01/01/2025
A beautiful place to visit. The beautifully situated castle complex is a real showpiece in the Gersprenztal. The castle in the Odenwald looks back on more than 700 years of history in the county of Erbach. Privately owned since 1926, this saved the castle from ultimate decay. The outside area of the castle is open and guided tours are currently taking place.
