If I were you, I would not trust the administration of Ephrata Manor with your loved one. My grandfather has resided at Ephrata Manor for under one year and the administration at the facility sent my mother (my grandfather’s daughter) a cease and desist letter banning her from the property due to lies told to them by my mother’s step-mom (my grandfather’s wife who has power of attorney over him). So basically, just because my step-grandmother does not like my mom, she was able to successfully get my caring and loving mother banned from visiting her own father. This is a very strange and unusual situation which a court or judge has NOT EVEN ruled on. The administration of this facility just made their own decision to ban my mother for unwarranted reasons and claimed that she forged her step-sister’s name on the visitor’s log (a complete lie and we have the photos to prove otherwise). Due to this, I would personally never allow my loved one to be at this facility and will warn others.

I am so grateful for my mom to be in such a loving place. I am grateful for Amanda who opened a spot for my mom so she could receive rehab. The nurses are angels. The rehab therapists are wonderful. It is a hidden gem.
Nothing but double talk from several people. Very disappointing performance from so-called professionals !!!!!!!!
I was privileged to have my mom at this lovely facility prior to her death. Previously, she had been at 4 other facilities, and this one was far superior. The care given was excellent, and the staff compassionate beyond belief. I shall be eternally grateful. I hope if the need arises for me to go to s nursing home that I will be fortunate enough to land here.
My parents began their Ephrata Manor Experience in the Apartments in 2008. Both of them recently passed away, in the Skilled Nursing unit. My mother went from the Apartments to Nursing in 2013. Dad moved to Personal Care (Assisted Living) at that time as well. I cannot say enough good things about this Community, and that is what it is. Our family has had experience in all 3 sections of Ephrata Manor and the care has been extraordinary. The Apartments are lovely, and offer independent living and a sense of community with others who are able to care for their own needs. They are nicely appointed, have easily accessible parking, offer different floor plans, and are reasonably priced with no high "fees" for entry. They do some minimal monitoring on well being through daily "checks" that residents are up and about. They allow folks to continue to drive if they are able, but also provide shuttles to shopping, church, etc. In Personal Care, they provide "studio apartments with the bed in the main room and a private bathroom. There are small kitchenettes with small fridges, but most eat their 3 meals per day (plus snacks) in a lovely dining room. The food there is quite good and I often enjoyed it while visiting. Food passes are available for guests for a nominal fee. There are lots of activities for residents as well. The level of care can be raised as the resident requires it, but they are also able to do their own care, laundry etc. as long as their ability permits. In Nursing the care is VERY good. Of course my dad was able to monitor my mom's care daily, but even he (who was very strict) had few complaints. Communications were usually very strong regarding changes in her health or other needs. She was always content and her caregivers were very loving and did their best to keep her involved in activities to the extent her health permitted. I also saw them give quality care to others. During the spring/summer of 2013 I was there on a daily basis for many weeks. In summary, I give Ephrata Manor my highest recommendation. Although I live in a different part of the country now, if in the future I need care in the area, I would consider moving there......
