A total Gem in the Elkhart Community, home away from home feel. Since I have worked at Elkhart Place I've seen it as a place i would went to live at when I become of age to retire. I would recommend to anyone looking for a facility that cares and always ready to lend that helping hand no matter what it may be. Not your typical assisted living facility. Its family, its home. From the administrator to the support staff, people who truly care about the residents residing in the facility. The residents who make you feel as though they adopted you.
My father had good nursing care at this facility. The new management is about the worst as it can get. You can never speak with anyone. Everyone is alway in a meeting and on the phone. They tell you they return your call but never do. My father moved out and they knew he was moving. Still withdrew 5k from his account. Definitely would not recommend sending a loved one to this place. If you have to deal with “Tiff” or “Heidi” good luck. They have zero communication skills. This place is going down quick because of this newer management.
The only good reviews on this place are from people trying to save their jobs and keep it open.It's so poorly managed that at times residents who are supposed to be fed are overlooked or just neglected. If you care about your loved one go across the street to Hubbard House.
2 weeks after my dad moved in, he says "This is my home now". He quickly became friends with the staff and they have become family to him. He gets a lot of one on one attention. If they fix a meal he can not eat or doesn't care for....they gladly make an alternative option for him. The staff is wonderful with him and our family. We are so glad we found this place
