There many reasons for this rating: the room are way too cold for older folks. There is only one chair for a person to sit in and that is a folding chair. That's a liability risk, to say the least. Some staff don't even speak when they enter the room. Some patients have dietary restrictions, yet the food is delivered with all the salt and sugar that they aren't supposed to have. Ill be glad when my loved one is out of there.

My grandmother and grandfather were both recent residents of the facility. My grandmother who passed away at the facility in 2020 from advanced age and my grandfather who passed away from a brain tumor in March of this year. My grandmother was long term care at the facility and my grandfather was there to complete rehab following his chemo and radiation therapy. During both stays their needs were met. The facility was clean and well organized. The administrative staff were friendly and all of the nursing staff were concerned and compassionate towards their care. Thank you ECHR for taking care of my family members during their time of need.
I poked around the internet and read a ton of reviews, so over-whelming but, when I got to the reviews of Elizabeth City Health and Rehab, they struck me as a caring, comfortable and the reviews on their rehabilitation professionals was glorious. Let me tell you my Tommy loved this facility. The staff really cared about their guest. They were always on top of things. The building was the most beautiful inside and Always so clean. The food was great my Tommy ate all of it! The rehabilitation professionals were very good it didn't matter who worked with my Tommy and he was very pleased with his rehabilitation. He was very pleased with his care team as well. So, if your looking, this is the Best rehabilitation facility hands down! Thank you for reading.
I have worked at ECHR since May 2024, This is such a fun place to work at. I love talking to all the residents and families and getting to know them. The amount of support in my job is so heartwarming, definitely a family feel.
Elizabeth City Health & Rehabilitation is a wonderful facility to get the help you need for physical therapy. I have been a patient there myself twice for physical therapy and OT .The team they have there is on point , they make sure you get the right treatment you need so you can return home the best you possible. The nursing and aids staff are very attentive to your needs and will help assist you in any way you need help. The cleaning and laundry staff always make sure the rooms and center are well kept , and your cholthes are fresh, the Activities team always make sure to have fun games to play with patients so you don't get bored, and also ice cream to enjoy most days. They are a very caring team there, and I recommend them over any other facility..
