I arrived to be hit by a full food cart. Dishes went flying. I am here for rehab from back surgery. Back to the Dishes was hit by a plate. In my wrist. I will live. i got a private room and bath. It stinks like spilled milk. The thin mattress kills my back, the old squeaks when going up or down, seems everything is ground oats so all these old people go. I need to home to my soft recliner and adjustable bed This place is for you 80 yr olds not me or anyone. It looks filthy and smells it too

THIEVES! My father was transferred to facility from the VA hospital for rehabilitation. Once there his watch, pen, and clothing were taken from him and never returned! My mother brought him more clothing which as also taken and never returned. The only thing that was offered is to file a missing items report. Why can't return what you took? You take people's laundry and never return it? Seriously?! I'm sorry, his stuff didn't grow legs and walk off, you stole it from him! Are you kidding me? How do you justify stealing from a veteran? They fought for your freedom and this is how your staff treats them? It's disgusting and disrespectful. Also, like other reviews say, the entire building smells like stale urine. Ever heard of air freshener or cleaning? I feel sorry for people that never get to leave this place, it's horrible. ~I'd rate it Zero stars, if I could.
If this nursing home is not on the list to be closed it should be. At 9 am on a Monday morning, the entire facility reeked of urine and feces. Staff stood around in there own world as if no one existed. I was completely ignored as I went to visit my loved one. Only to find her slumped down in her bed, in a very uncomfortable position with. Her clothing in appropriate and the sheets looked to not have been changed in days. All this going on as a nurse questioned her testing her cognitive state of mind, never once offering to help her into a more comfortable position in bed, and ignoring the filth around her. Minutes later a staff of CNAs joined this mess, staying " Your not ready to get out the bed, I'm going to mark this as a refusal" , now not once did I hear anyone " Ask?" If my grandmother if she was ready to get out of bed. As I said the unsupportive staff simply " stated this, making there way to the next room... and I heard the statement from the staff again" I'm going to mark this as a refusal "... To me it seemed as this is just another tactic for the rush through the resident's rooms, not doing anything and back to there stations to sit and swipe through there phone's and hold inappropriate conversations about there weekend. I don't think the staff at this facility understands that if our loved ones were not placed in these facilities with the hope that they are getting the much needed proper care, that there would not be a need for them to show up each day. I am completely disgusted at the overall state of this facility and the staff.
My fiancé was in there for physical rehabilitation and they were wonderful!! He progressed so quickly and is now home and better than ever. I highly recommend this facility.
I wish there was the option to give negative stars. This facility is the most vile place I have stepped foot in. If you care about your loved ones, do not place them here. The staff is uncaring and irresponsible and care more about being on their phones than providing aid to the residents. Every patient in this facility looks like the walking dead. If your loved one ends up at elderwood Cheektowaga you can guarantee that they will be neglected and they will suffer. Nothing breaks my heart more than knowing that the last few months of my Poppy’s life were spent in this hell hole.
