First time we placed a parent in care outside the home. Honestly it was a rocky start, not fully understanding what to expect. However, the staff have been wonderful. Head nurse Ben is a strong advocate meeting my mom’s needs. He addresses my concerns and questions quickly. The activities are stimulating and appropriate for the residents who live here. The staff are warm and welcoming, they now feel like extended family. Meals are flavorful and balanced. Always dessert after, a must for my 91 year old mother. It has been almost 2 months now and we are grateful for the care mom is receiving. Thank you all!
This place is just so awesome for memory patients! My dad is thriving, not just existing. The food is great. I heard they are serving prime rib for Christmas dinner this year and I went to HS with the director so I believe her! 😍 Never a complaint about the food from dad, and he can be picky! The staff are on point, fun and engaging with residents, talking to them like normal people meeting residents where they are at. Staff seem to be very well trained in caring for memory patients in particular. Residents exercise every morning, and have lots of activities to keep them mentally engaged throughout the day. Dad has gotten stronger in only a month since we moved him here. It's been a blessing. Also, the hallways never smell. The Director is OCD about this issue and the facility is always clean. Residents seem to be cleaned up after. Personal belongings such as laundry are tracked really well. I cannot say enough good things about Edgemont. It's so hard to find a decent place for your loved one with failing memory. Don't skip over Edgemont.
I had the pleasure of visiting Edgemont and was graciously toured throughout the entire building by the executive director. No planned tour I dropped in. The building is so full of Love, Life and Happiness. The staff were incredibly engaged with residents from dietary/activities/home-care staff/nursing- Being in the industry for 36 years I would applaud the staff for a “Job Well Done”! Love the decorations and I understand depts; decorated their doors-my vote is for maintenance-creativity/relatable and fun-Nicely done. (Nursing gets my 2nd vote-great dis[lay of the team! Thank you for touring me Gabrielle.
My dad has been at Edgemont for a couple of years dealing with different stages of dementia. The new management and staff has been amazing. A lot of participation with the residents and a lot of new activities going on. We have had a few days we thought were going to be the last and the staff was nothing but caring and compassionate, not only with my dad, but the whole family spending the day there. I have gotten pics from the staff of my Dad actually up dancing with them!!
